We stayed very near this little bar and it was the first place we hit up when we arrived in Key West. We are so happy we did. We grabbed a spot at the bar window (the best place to grab a cocktail). Aiken (sp) was the bartender and was our bartender most of the weekend. He was very personable, in a way that appealed to us (lots of quick wit and banter). He had great recommendations for other restaurants and bars and was very inclusive of the other patrons that came by. As a former bartender and bar owner, Aiken was excellent at getting a good vibe going across the bar and pulling multiple groups into conversations. Every day that we walked by the bar and saw Aiken and other "regulars" or people we met, they would say hello and there would generally be a fun exchange of banter from the night before. We will make this our home base again the next time we come to Key West.

Zuzana was the reason we continued coming in while we were in key west. The location obviously helped to seeing as you are attached to our motel but she was above and beyond the call of duty. Being in the service industry myself I know how important customer satisfaction is. She was not only kind but extremely helpful with the many questions my husband and I had. She knows her job and does it flawlessly with a smile on her face the entire time. She was also very efficient in handling multiple customers at once and keeping us all satisfied. She really makes this establishment shine!

The Tipsy Rooster is an absolute delight off the beaten path. We were walking back to our hotel and heard live steel drum music playing and we had to come in. Sitting outside we enjoyed amazing drinks sitting on barstools and later sat in the hull of a boat that was turned into a sofa. We ended up visiting The Tipsy Rooster several more evenings because of a special bartender named Jenn. Jenn was friendly and efficient plus she recommended some great local places to eat. If you’re near the south end of Duval you must visit The Tipsy Rooster.
