My fiancée and I wanted to see the distillery and get the real details on Hemingway's namesake rum. Well, I must say this tour did not disappoint. The 2 of us and about 15 others walked through the very small but still operational distillery, guided by Mo, a very knowledgeable young man, as he discussed various aspects of Hemingway's life including his wives, his boat, and his drinking, all while explaining the rum distilling process. The photos of Earnest's life were amazing, the artifacts were very cool, and the rum was delicious. Buy some rum distilled in Key West at the end of the tour - they have rums you cannot get anywhere else! Great tour, great guide, and great rum! Only takes about an hour! There's a large but very comfortable bar in the back where you can buy cocktails made with Papa's Pilar rum and sit and relax away from the Key West noise and chaos. VERY worth the short walk. Just do it.

The Distillery is so cute with a tasting bar, too. Everyone was so nice. A visit here is a must!! We were the only 2 on the tour and Mo (our guide) was phenomenal!!! Great info about Rum and Ernest. We left with a bottle, of course.

Held our son and future daughter in laws welcome party at Papa's and everyone had a great time. The staff was exceptional and they met our every need as we had to plan this event from out of state. The drinks especially the Passion Fruit Daquiri and Papa's Punch were well received. The staff provided tours for those interested and everyone had a good time.

Mo did a great job on the tour of how they make Pilar rum. He had a nice balance of information, puns, and answering questions along the way while maintaining both professionally rehearsed and friendly. I'd definitely recommend a tour with Mo!

Okay, if you like Hemingway and you like outstanding rum, do not pass up an opportunity to visit Papa's Pilar in Key West!!! Great rum distilling tour, which includes a tasting of their fine rums and a very informative history of the great man himself. Special thanks to our tour guide, Jeremy, and his very able "apprentice" Tyler. Exceptionally veteran-friendly, especially if you drop by on Fridays!

The distillery tour was amazing...Jeremy was a great host and very fun. All the staff at Papas was knowledgeable and very helpful re finding a way to get Pilar when we get back to Ohio (they don't ship there). The others on the tour were also fun with exception of a rude 4 some who walked in seconds before the tour and demanded to go with us...then did not drink and spent the whole time translating what Jeremy was saying to their language. Jeremy rebounded and made it fun!

This place was great! A lovely history lesson on both rum and Hemingway. We got to see how they make rum and taste 3 different varieties. Highly recommend if you enjoy partaking in spirits! Edgar was a fabulous tour guide!

Edgar was very informative and entertaining during our tour. We enjoyed every part of it - Hemingway history, rum production, and yes the tastings!!! We love bourbon but now after this tour we enjoy rum! We are happy to know we can buy it in Colorado (and 48 states).

Wow! What a great experience. We were a little early and the floor manager treated us like royalty (we were celebrating a birthday) and bought us a drink. Edgar, our tour guide, did an amazing job from the very start of the tour to the very end. I can't recommend this more!

We did the rum tour, interesting and informative insight to the rum distilling process. Our guide Indiana knew her stuff and was fun. This is a fun and alternative way to spend an hour in Key West. The adjoining Social Club has an extensive list of rum based craft cocktails. It’s lower key and a good break from the madness of Duval Street.
