Captain Sheri is still the best. The encounters with dolphins were simply magical. Please do not hesitate to enjoy the complimentary access to the Marina pool beforehand.

Captain Sherri is the ultimate guide. She treated us and our dog to a delightful day. She brought dog treats and a life jacket for our pooch. Watched over him while we snorkeled. We couldn't have asked for more. She knows how to interact with...More

Snorkeling tours (2 Replies)
Has anyone used Captain Sheri's Wild About Dolphins tour? This looks to be a smaller, captain owned boat vs. a larger company like Dangers. Any thoughts or reccomendations?

My wife and I went with her a couple of years ago and had a great time (we were the only two aboard not counting her dog). She put us up close to several dolphins then moved to another area where the snorkling was pretty good. We would recommend her (and I did in my review of our trip)

My husband and I will be traveling sans child to Key West for a getaway in February and have planned on one day (a Saturday) for some sort of excursion... we have been doing lots of research and have interest in the following: Ocean Vue Snorkel and Dolphin Encounter Wild About Dolphins Fury Glass Bottom Boat Sunset/REEF ECO Tour Fury Glass Bottom Boat Dolphin Watch/Sunset Sail Some reviewers have mentioned the Fury staff was rude - so that concerns us a good bit. Any other insights /...More

If you do anything that includes a sunset you will get back to Key West late-ish and then, presumably, have to drive north afterwards. If this is the case I'd consider an afternoon dolphin watch type of trip then have dinner in town before leaving. I think the glass bottom boat trips are kind of dull but you get to see the reef without getting into the water. Pjk

Wild About Dolphins vs. Dolphin Watch (1 Replies)
Looking to book a dolphin/snorkel trip while in Key West. Both of these have good reviews, but wonder if you would recommend one over the other? Or maybe both great. Would love your comments.

The biggest difference is that WAD is on Stock Island. There's nothing on their web page about them picking you up so either you will have to drive there or take a cab to and from which gets pricey. The DW goes out of the Key West Bight from a mooring just in front of Turtle Kraals so it's likely you will be able to walk to and from the boat. And just looking at the web pages the DW's Patty C looks like a more comfortable boat. And FWIW The captain of the Patty C used to work for Danger...More
