After our tour guide of the Hemingway house mentioned this site, we thought we would try it. We enjoy history, and from that perspective it was interesting. Information about the early years of Key West, and how the townsfolk made a living off shipwrecks, was...More

I was surprised to learn so much from the pirate type tour guides. It was a fun tour... but not sure it was worth the price of admission.

This museum was recommended to us as a place to find much of the history of Key West...and how the island became so wealthy. The two floors of the Shipwreck Museum are filled with shipwreck artifacts, including a 40+ pound silver bar from the 1600's....More

This was a super fun super quick stop. It's touristy and gimmicky and if that's what you expect you will be satisfied. There is an interesting introduction at the beginning and a few interesting things to look at. You can then climb to the top...More

I was very excited for the shipwreck museum, but was underwhelmed. The tickets were overpriced for what it was. There isn't a really interesting story behind the wreck, which didn't help. The best part of the museum was climbing up to the crow's nest. The...More

It was very informative about the wreckers of Key West, what that entailed and how Key West became so wealthy. Kids will like attempting to pick up a solid silver bar that was in 5 shipwrecks! They can also burn off energy climbing to the...More

This is a fun place to spend an hour or so. The actors who greet you outside and take you through the introductory first level of the museum are wonderful—and incredibly dedicated, especially when you consider how they're dressed and how hot it is and...More

My wife and I toured this location and enjoyed hearing and reading the history. I was able to hold a 64lb silver bar from a ship that sunk in the 1600s! Very cool stuff if you love maritime history we HIGHLY recommend.

Very interesting place. There is an in-character guide for the beginning, then look on your own. Several stations with short videos. The displays were well lit, but there were a few areas the lighting could have been better. The view from the tower is awesome.
