Miss Chief Charters is a family owned and operated fishing charter boat that has introduced thousands of guests to the amazing waters of Key Largo for over 30 years. We specialize in showing our guests a fun and educational experience. Whether you are a family with kids or a group of seasoned anglers we can customize your trip to provide maximum enjoyment. Our boat Miss Chief accommodates 6 anglers in creature comforts like comfortable shaded seating and clean restroom. She is also equipped with the latest fishing equipment, electronics and safety gear. Full, 3/4 and half day charters available year round.

This was our first fishing charter and did not know what to expect. Captain Dan and Matt made our experience fantastic. We had two teen boys with us and they were excited to not only catch fish but to hold the fish they caught made the whole trip worth every dime. We are very grateful to have had this experience but mostly that they cut and cleaned the fish for us to cook. One of the teens said "fish tastes so much better when you have caught it yourself". That says is all. We will definitely add charter fishing to our itinerary in the future,

Trip to the reef where we began catching within ten minutes of dropping lines.
Crew provided all rigging. Caught several different types of fish. Kept 15 fish and released about 35 for size. Had a great time. Took fish to local restaurant where they could it up beautifully for only $10 a person. Awesome Day.

Got the opportunity to go out with Miss Chief Charters on a recent trip to Key Largo as part of a wedding weekend, and let me say these guys did not disappoint. We all had a great time and the Capt and first mate did a great job of grinding it out to make sure we had a great trip with a box fish. The day we went out was rough in regards to the sea conditions, with what seemed like 6-8 foot swells at times. It was rough on that front, but these guys were great. They never stopped hustling and making sure we were always in good shape and catching fish. Cannot say enough positive about these guys and their operation. I would definitely recommend Miss Chief, and hope to go out with them again soon.

We had booked a full day charter with Captain Dan aboard the Miss Chief a 37ft Bertram with plenty of power (twin 900 hp Detroit Diesels) to get to the fishing grounds. Captain Dan told us that the offshore Mahi bite had been slow and suggested we head to the reef to try our hand at some Yellowtail snapper and possibly pick up a Grouper or 2 on the bottom. Most of the other boats that went offshore that day came back with 1-2 small Mahi. We had caught our limit of Black Grouper by 9:30am, and by days end Yellowtail Snapper, Triggerfish (delicious), Cero Mackeral, the biggest Houndfish I have ever seen, a big Barracuda, a Bonita for good measure. An absolute monster reef day! Captain Dan and his mate Matt were an absolute pleasure to fish with. The boat is clean and has an air conditioned cabin for when you want to have a break from the hot weather. There were able to help the guys in our group that had experience as well as teach the newbies. We will be fishing the Miss Chief again the next time we head down to the Keys.

We had a great time with the Miss Chief crew. The Captain was considerate of me and my wife who were more prone to getting sea sick. Worked with us and still managed to catch some great fish to take home. Captain Dan also recommended a great restaurant to take our fish too be cooked up for dinner. From beginning to end great experience I would recommend to anyone interested in fishing the Keys.

Our family has done tons of charters in the Florida keys, including Islamorada, Key west, Marathon, etc. This one is the most unique experience out of all of them. This one will be the one memory that will give you a very vivid and full of adventure. Capt. Dan has lot experience, very good at keeping you safe and above all catching plenty of fish especially Dolphin. Second of all, Matt the deckhand was Awesome! He was always busy getting ready for the next school of fish. Matt and Dan have a very caring personalities and they didn't just stop because time was up. They kept moving to find more fish and most importantly very well organized. Also they have a very special bond that truly is one in a million. I recommend 100% Miss Chief charters!

Had a great fishing experience with Dan and Matt! We were originally booked for 1/2 day, but ended up extending it to 3/4. Caught lots of Mahi and had a blast doing it. We've done several fishing charters before and this was my 14 year olds favorite time out of them all. Highly recommended!!!

Even though the seas were a bit rough, Capt Dan was great and made the day fun. Whether the excitement of chasing Sailfish or trolling for Tuna, Dan kept at it until he found fish. Deck mate Joe was in constant motion and had the rods in the right spots to catch fish. Reeling in a black fin tuna when something grabbed it and raced to the bottom. While it could have been a Wahoo it turned out to be a large Lemon Shark that we released.
Thanks to Capt and mate Joe for a great day on the Miss Cheif 37’. U will enjoy a charter with Dan!

Miss Chief Charter was awesome. Took group of three Father Son duos out and everyone had a great time. Captain Dan put us on a Sailfish and accommodated our kids with action packed reef / bottom fishing as well. I was most impressed with how patient and informative the crew was with three young kids 10-13 years old. They treated the kids with respect and helped them understand technique. Josh was an amazing first mate and truly worked his tail off to make our trip as smooth as possible. Guy is a machine!

What a day, Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna and a couple other species. We caught so many fish that I gave the crew half the catch and still got back to the dock over an hour early at my request. 3 guys we had a blast! What a crew Captain Dan has, I highly recommend fishing the keys on The Miss Chief.

What is a split trip and how much would it be for reef fishing? Also, what's the maximum number of people allowed on the charter trip?

A half day reef fishing is $700. On a split charter that cost is divided by the total amount of Anglers. We can carry a maximum of six. To book a split charter you must book the date you were looking for out right and we will attempt to put more Anglers on the boat to share the cost. However if the split is not filled out the day before the charter you can either cancel it or fish the charter paying full price. You'll free to call me anytime with questions and to Book. Capt. The half-day reef trip is $700.
Half day deep sea is $800.
Prices include licensed captain, fishing licenses, bait, tackle, fuel, ice, and filleting your catch at the end of the trip.
We do put split trips together to lessen the cost.
