From Jen’s warm, exuberant welcome at the beginning of our first day, to Chris’ quickly and expertly fixing a free flow issue with my octo at the end of the day, I understand why Sail Fish Scuba popped up immediately when I searched for the best dive shop in Key Largo. The warmth and genuine nature we experienced right off the bat set the tone for a really good day, and sweet Tom’s unbelievable and kind patience with me - a new diver still getting her fins wet - made my baby diver hiccups seem SO much less “end of the world”.
With just eight blue water dives under my belt as of our first dive with Sail Fish Scuba, I was (and still am) working on my air consumption. That, coupled with a very unexpected and fairly strong current put me in a position during the first dive where I just couldn’t catch my breath, so we called it 18 minutes in. I had a beast of a time trying to get back on the boat and somewhere in the process lost a weight pouch. Needless to say, I felt pretty defeated. But Tom was incredibly supportive and helped me take it all in stride. By our last dive of the day we clocked 42 minutes, which is super good for me. The second half of the second day, I had some issues with a 90 foot dive that ended up being just a little too deep for my confidence level, and Tom quickly and expertly took care of me, and with incredible ease. His patience is off the charts, and his encouragement is unsurpassed.
At the end of each day, Tom took our personally-owned equipment back to the shop to rinse and ready for the next day. Unbeknownst to me until later, he took it upon himself to rummage through the “lost and found” bin the first day and found a replacement weight pouch for me. On our final day, I asked Jen where we could find a gas station to air up our rental car’s tires. She told me they could take care of it, disappeared in a flash, and came back with an air tank and adaptor. We were able to get the tires aired up right there in the parking lot!
These folks are pure gold - platinum really - and they’ve gone so far above and beyond anything we could have expected out of a dive shop. They gave us such a wonderfully memorable honeymoon dive trip that my wife and I had already discussed coming back to dive with Sail Fish Scuba and Tom before we’d even finished our last dives. We will abso-LUTELY not dive with anyone else in Key Largo. If you’re looking for a dive shop in Largo, do yourself the biggest favor and just book with Sail Fish Scuba. You won’t be sorry.

Sail Fish was an awesome adventure! We went to two dive sites, The City of Washington, which is an older wreck, and The Christ of The Abyss! If you haven’t seen that it is well worth asking to go. The crew and staff were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and easy to get along with. Between dives the crew switched the tanks and made sure everything was in proper order for the next dive which allowed me to enjoy my time on the ocean at my leisure! Michelle was a fantastic guide and pointed out the many different creatures that lie beneath the waves. I’ve been with other companies and Sail Fish is one I would recommend to anyone that enjoys or wants to enter into the world of diving!

I brought my 14 year old son for open water certification. He had Tom as his instructor who was very patient and encouraged him the entire time. He was able to help my son stay calm when he was getting panicked. I felt like my son was safe and carefully monitored the entire experience.
This was our second trip with Sail Fish Scuba. We brought my other son five years ago and had a similar excellent experience with Tom.
Sail Fish Scuba is a top notch Scuba dive center, and all the staff are excellent. Jen is full of excellent ideas for land excursions and ways to save on scuba gear. We bought some nice used snorkel equipment in the shop for a fraction of the new price.
I highly recommend Sail Fish Scuba and hope we can go back again.

My dive buddy and I had a terrific experience diving with new Sailfish Scuba shop owners Tarek and Michaela Salem. From their responsiveness in booking to the professionalism and competence Tarek displayed as our dive guide to entire dive experience was remarkable.
We completed deep dives with them on both the Duane and USS Spiegel Grove. Tarek was a professionally competent, attentive guide, ensuring we were comfortable preparing for and during our dives as well as taking photos of our dives.
They have great plans for their new shop and we’re definitely looking forward to diving with them again soon.
I give Sailfish Scuba my highest recommendation and guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

I absolutely loved my time with Sail Fish Scuba! The instructors were very clear and detailed, and they gave me so many tips to perfect my diving and ensure that my learning experience was easy and safe. The community here was very warm and so fun to be around - Tarek, Randy, and Michaela were kind, funny, and easy to work with. My experience was very fulfilling, and I will definitely be returning! I highly recommend Sail Fish Scuba to anyone wanting to learn to scuba dive or advance their diving skills!

Diving with Sail Fish Scuba was a superb experience. I had not dived in a long time while kids were small and Sail Fish Scuba was the perfect place to return to the world of diving. Our entire family went on a Discover Scuba and the patience and encouragement from Sail Fish Scuba was amazing.

Jenn Kerr is a wonderful scuba shop owner and went above and beyond to make our open water certification process as easy and smooth as possible.
Upon arriving in Key Largo, we checked in and were paired up with an easy going and friendly scuba instructor named Tom.
Tom was very encouraging, and made my wife and I feel at ease with his clear instructions and extensive scuba knowledge. Sail Fish Scuba and Tom went above and beyond to get us certified before the tropical storm hit the Keys knowing that we were from out of town and had a small window to compete our Open Water certification.
Highly recommend Sail Fish Scuba and can’t wait to come back again for future dives.

Every Thanksgiving, I make it a point to get out with Sailfish Scuba, and once again, they delivered an amazing experience. Jen is always super helpful when I reach out, making the entire booking process easy and stress-free.
The first day of diving was with Rick, and he was fantastic—super helpful and knowledgeable, making the day enjoyable from start to finish. On the second day, we headed out to the Spiegel Grove in the morning with January. The dives were incredible, with excellent visibility, some exciting shark sightings, and amazing swim-throughs. In the afternoon, we explored some shallower reefs with Chris, and they did not disappoint.
A big thank you to Jen, Chris, January, and Rick for another couple of unforgettable days of diving. As always, the photos that Sailfish Scuba provided were spectacular and perfectly captured everything we saw. I can’t wait to dive with them again next year!
Do yourself a favor and dive with Sailfish when in key largo!

Had a wonderful time diving with Jennifer’s team at Sail Fish Scuba! Jennifer was very quick to respond when I reached out about my trip in September and answered all my questions. I was coming at the start of the slow season but she accommodated my itinerary. The diving was great and Chris got some amazing pictures of me and the shark we saw at Spiegel Grove! I highly recommend diving with Sail Fish next time you are in Key Largo!

I was staying in the same building where private trips were going out and talked to the owners at the end of the day. They were so social and personable. I explained I couldn’t hear but it didn’t present any problems for them. I booked a trip and off we went. Everyone that is involved with Sail Fish are life family. You are treated special from the time you arrive in the morning until you leave. I had a 1 on 1 guide. The tours are not crowded only taking 8 people. Two reefs and tons of pictures free of charge for you to download. The boat is clean, stocked with water and snacks. The shop has everything you need and more. What an absolutely fantastic day it was. I highly recommend coming here!

Hi Guys! Because I might not be able to dive but my husband can, is it possible for me to snorkel while he dives? Thanks!
Written July 26, 2017
Yes they have boats that handle both divers and snorkeling. I would advise going to the Christ of the Abyss site since it's not that deep and you can snorkel the site and he can dive. I dove this with my husband and saw snorkelers around above me. But not a lot of people

We are a family of four. Two children aged 14 and 9. All can swim but one adult and 9 year old probably more confident/relaxed with buoyancy aid. Do you think we would enjoy the 2-location snorkelling trip you advertise on website or should we be more confident in water to make the most of this trip ?
Written July 16, 2017
As we are the only operator in the Keys to always have a snorkeling guide in the water for every group of max 8 snorkel guests, I don't think you will have any problems with our tour.
We provide all snorkel gear/guide/FREE set of photos taken by guide & snorkel vest or swim noodle all in our tour cost.
We do sell out very quickly for our tours, so please check our website - book now button for avail seats. or phone our dive shop Tues - Sat 7:30am - 5pm to book with us.

I think the snorkel trip would be appropriate. Snorkel vests, pool noodles and in water guides are provided. In addition, you will be right next to the boat.

Hello, My husband and 19 year old son are interested in a dive. It has been awhile since they have been diving(just didn't have the opportunity) and my husband is a little nervous about remembering everything. Would a scuba tour be good for them? Would it be better to do a shore dive to get back into the swing of it? Is there anything they would need to do ahead of time?
Written July 10, 2017
That's a great question and we are really happy that you asked. While a shore dive is a great adventure, it is still diving with different challenges. The recommendation is that if you have been out of diving for a year or more, you should take the Re-Activate class (formerly Scuba Tune Up). Kudos to your husband for recognizing the need to refresh his skills. There is an academic component that he would complete prior to arriving at Sail Fish Scuba. He would spend the morning with an instructor at the pool practicing his skills. Then he is ready to dive the afternoon boat! Check out our web page for more information or call us here at the shop. We would be happy to walk you through it.

I was certified NAUI but can't find my 20yo cert, I've tried! My 12 yo daughter did an intro course in Cayman with me including a 30 ft reef and 45 ft wreck dive at Kittiwake. I'd like to recert and she wants to cert online with the dives down there.
Hubby and son might want to snorkel, he's hesitant, doubt they'll dive.
What are our options? Thanks!!
Written June 13, 2017
If you have exhausted NAUI researching for your card, you will have to complete the PADI Open Water Certification class. This consists of an online training module - PADI Open Water E-learner. This is completed before you come to dive with us and is paid directly to PADI - $179.00. The practical portion of the class is completed here in Key Largo. You will review the training module with our instructor. Then you will go to the pool to complete the confined water exercises and learn how to use the gear underwater. The final step is completing 4 Open Water dives over two days. The fee for the practical training is $415.00 and is paid directly to Sail Fish Scuba. Our tours are appropriate for divers and snorkelers alike, so other family members can be on the boat and snorkel while you are completing your Open Water dives. Call the shop or email us and we would be happy to get you started.
