My three friends and I booked a full-day trip with Garl's Coastal Kayaking. As June isn't a great month to go to the Everglades, our tour was just us 4 and our guide. Before we left, he gave us mosquito shirts that covered our faces with a netting to keep out the bugs. Besides the mosquitos, which we were expecting,... More

Garl is a keen photographer as well as an expert gladesman, so the stops are scenic and the sights worth the time and effort - but he paces the day well, and obviously loves the Everglades. Real immersion experience, lots of alligators up close, & even a croc. Great day.

This tour is surely the best way to explore the Everglades. From hiking through a small river following the alligator's path to kayaking through the mangrove "jungle" - I wouldn't want to miss a second. Garl is a knowledgeable, friendly and fun guide who takes great pictures during the tour that you can later download- awesome memories!

Garl was awesome. I can't imagine getting the full experience of the everglades without a knowledgeable guide. We went slogging searching for alligators and kayaking where we saw crocodiles and a shark (small lemon sharks). The weather we had was rainy but garl did a good job of taking us to places to avoid the weather. We didn't have pants... More

If you are looking for an immersion tour into the Everglades, look no further. Garl and crew take you into the many co-existing ecosystems that make up this unique area. As a biologist, I hunger to learn more about the natural history of areas I visit. Another biologist recommended that I go out with Garl, and I was not disappointed.... More

I found out about Garl's Coastal Kayaking Tour through a friend and it did not disappoint! We waded through the sawgrass to explore the cypress domes, where we saw THOUSANDS of bromeliads and a family of barred owls. Next up was kayaking through the mangroves (definitely could not have done that without getting lost) - the highlight was two of... More

The Everglades is truly an amazing sanctuary, full of wildlife and rare plants, however, not all the "jewels" of this park are easily viewed. I'm a wildlife biologist and worked in the Keys for several years, spending a considerable amount of time in the Everglades. Yet, it wasn't until I took a tour with Garl that I first hiked into... Most people who go to Everglades National Park see it through the windows of their car. While sawgrass marsh is a major component of the everglades, exploring the less traveled path with the tour guides of Coastal Kayaking, Garl and Don, will open your eyes to a whole new experience! Unveiling a world that the average Everglades visitor never gets... More

Garl's trip is something everyone should do at least once in their life! This is one of the very few ways to truly get up close and personal with the unique and exotic organisms that only the Everglades offers. Not only is Garl and his staff amazing at customer care, but they truly know everything there is to know about... More
