It is quite a site to see... the Christ of the Abyss is a must to see! We just saw it our second time and took some more pictures next to it. The sun beams through to the Christ statue and it looks magnificent.

The only reason for my visit to the keys. Super incredible I was able to experience it. Beware of the jellyfish!

This was a nice addition to a day of diving, I had read about this and enjoyed the dive. The statue is in great shape and shallow, so all divers can enjoy the sight.

Water clear. Saw soooo many different kinds of fish and coral. A little concerned about going on a group tour, but was great.

Unique dive site but we like many of the others better.. the statue is definitely the main draw but overall we preferred the reefs.

I am not a strong swimmer but this was something we were able to anchor off our boat close enough that I was able to swim out and have my first real snorkeling experience and it was really cool!

We have been to Christ of the Abyss twice now. The first time years back was memorable because s did get to see the iconic statue even though seas were rough. Today it was awesome in calm seas. The waters were chrystal clear, the John Pennykamp State Park captain and crew as professional as ever and the reefs nearby were... More

This is a great place to snorkel. I recommend taking the John Pennycamp snorkel tour to get there. We have our own boat but enjoyed the relaxation of someone else doing the driving.

The view is amazing but the waves are intense. I recommend this for strong swimmers only. The statue is located only about 10 feet below the water and the base of the statue is about another 10 feet. Make sure you bring your under water camera for this!

Hubby, son and some friends went on a snorkeling trip out of John Pennekamp State Park and the captain took us to the area where "Christ of the Deep" was located. I'd only seen photos of it before, and it was really nice to actually be in the same location as the statue. (As for Jesus himself, he's always with... More
