About
The Sailors Choice fishing boat in Key Largo, Florida is a custom built, all aluminum, 65-foot party fishing boat that’s U.S. Coast Guard certified for up to 49 passengers. Families and children are welcome and no fishing experience is required! Our courteous and friendly crew will assist you, whether you’re interested in some pointers on best fishing practices or just need someone to help clean and fillet your catch. Our price includes everything you need to fish (rod, reel, bait, and tackle). We predominately catch snapper and grouper, but we’ve hooked everything from amberjack to wahoo aboard the Sailors Choice. Catch and release or keep to eat. Our group fishing trips depart daily from the beautiful Holiday Inn Marina, just a short boat ride to the fishing grounds in the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to our daily public trips, the boat can also be chartered for private groups.

We rented the entire boat for a private charter one afternoon (I highly recommend this if you have a decent size group, it was amazing having the boat to just 9 of us). The captain and the deckhand ensured we had a great time and were careful to move spots to keep us in better currents and better fish as things moved around. We caught probably 50-60 fish on the day, a good fun day of catching. The boat is impeccably maintained and has nice comforts onboard for sitting and moving around. Was really nice to have bathrooms as well. I'd definitely go out with them again.

Our party of 3 adults and 4 kids had an excellent experience! We accidentally booked the wrong date online but the crew was still able to accommodate us 15 min prior to departure when we arrived. The boat capacity is less due to COVID restrictions so we lucked out. The crew (Kishon/mate and Alice/captain-I hope I am remembering names correctly) worked hard and hustled around the boat to distribute bait and then assist with every “Fish On!”
When the bite slowed in a spot, we quickly pulled in the lines and were taken to another location. We visited 3 sites during our morning trip. Every single person walked away with fish! The captain had a line in of her own and when she had one on, she called my son over to reel it in. He was proud to serve us that 22in yellowtail at dinner 🥰
Upon arrival at the dock, the crew sorted the fish quickly by family groups and cleaned them for us. We gave extra tips for that haha!
I’ve lived here for a long time but this was my first trip with Sailor’s Choice. I will definitely return when company comes to visit and because of the great value compared to a private half day charter, my son and I will return on our own.
Side note...the first fish pic was from the whole boat and the last fish pic was just our family. Also, as someone who sometimes get sea sick, I appreciated being on a larger boat versus a smaller private charter vessel 😬🤪

My husband and I took the morning cruise today with Captain Doug and his crew. What an awesome morning! The weather was perfect, the boat was beautiful and the fishing was successful. Being able to BYOB was a plus as well and we felt it was very affordable for a 4-hour cruise. My husband skillfully caught 16 fish and the captain allowed me to land 3 of my own even though I was just hanging out to drink beer. Highly recommend this experience for some of the best ocean views!!

Sailor's Choice has an excellent team, friendly, clean and competent. The lady captain really does a great job, as do the mates. We have been here each year and never have been disappointed. They assist you with your catch and clean it after return. There have not been many fishes caught also this time, not every party had one, but this is a recent problem worldwide at the moment with declining numbers of fish around.
They had to increase prices recently due to high costs, but are still below the prices of their competition in the Keys.
Mind that spots on the boat are first comes - first serves, no rotation on the stern but also no extra fee for stern posts.

We were staying at Key Largo and thought we would do the fishing trip as my husband loves fishing. We wandered up to take a look at the boat and booked our trip for the following day. Weather looked good so off we went. We found a spot on the boat and the crew went through the safety talk and showed us how to fish( which was handy for us non fisher folk ) they then told us what to do if we caught a fish .The crew were really friendly and helpful. Off we sailed and after a while the sea was getting really choppy, i mean big waves choppy. We were asked to sit until they could anchor up. Then when they managed this it was fishing time. The waves were big and a few people didnt get up to fish and just sat with their head between their knees. I was chuffed with myself as i caught the first fish and then an hour later i was first to throw up!! The boat had to move about 3 times as it was really rough. They apologised about how rough it was but its not their fault it was good old mother nature. Lots of fish were caught and even though i was ill i would do this trip again the next time that i am in the keys. Well worth the money as it was 4 hours out and your rod, bait and fishing licence was all included in the price.

Just returned from Key Largo that I boat fished 14 of my 15 days.Needless to say fishing is my passion. Normally I like fishing full days but the Sailor Choice was very close to hotel and gave it a shot. It soon became my second home. Andrew and Keeshan ,the mates were the best and Capt Joe knew his stuff and put us on fish. I did 7 trips on them and always had a great time. Some days a non-stop catch other days you had to work a bit due to a cold front that came thru. This is a perfect family boat as Capt fish for a big fish and when hooks up hands off to the youngest person on boat and gets everone involved.Again was very pleased with a new member of my fishing Family

Captain and Mate worked hard to get the fish. Boat was clean and well-maintained. I noted several repeat customers. Two people (local snowbirds) were doing it again the next day. Exceptional tour at a great price.

Capt and mate were very courteous. Boat is clean with plenty of bait to go around. Only problems were:
* we spent almost 45 min at a location where everyone was catching small fish that had to be released
* no stern rotation so if you want it, you better hop in the boat first
* limited shaded/indoorseating availability

Crew did great getting everyone’s catch. They mark the fish so you keep what you catch. Capt did a good job pulling lines when fishing slowed. Also, you bait your own hooks so if you are new good to ask on the way out how to do it. Boat clean and in good condition.

These guys are really great, they create a very family friendly experience. We highly recommend. Forrest was amazing. Fishing was good and they really want you to catch which means picking up your rods and move to different places if need be.
Thanks for a great time.It was my husbands father's day gift and he could not stop talking about it. See you soon.

We were probably driving out for about 30-45 mins out. Seas were a bit rough the day we went out so we ended up moving a couple times

Night fishing is a blast and I have done it many times. The only boat I know of that does this is the Gulfstream which is in the marina next to the Key Largo Fisheries on Ocean Bay Drive. They leave at 7pm and return at midnight. The biggest yellowtail I ever caught...over 24 inches was on an evening trip. It is sooooo beautiful to get away from the city and see the stars the way they are supposed to look. The fishing is generally great at night and if you have never done it you need to give it a try.
