Family owned and operated beach ranch nestled within the Amelia Island...

Family owned and operated beach ranch nestled within the Amelia Island State Park, Florida (north of Jacksonville). The Kellys run one of the only full-time licensed outfits offering beach horseback rides in the country. Ranch offers gentle, guided tours starting from the ranch with a short trail ride through the wild maritime hammock, over dunes and then along miles of white pristine beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. This is the perfect place to fulfill that lifetime dream of riding a horse along the ocean. Note: All rides leave directly from the ranch, never from a public parking lot. Can accommodate larger groups.

It was cool to see the beach on horseback. It was nice and quiet, but too quiet. Wish the guides would give some history about the area or the beach or the park while we rode. The ride has to be single file so safety reasons, which means your kinda by yourself.

Worst experience. Horseback ride was short and the mosquitos were out of control. Staff was not the most pleasant, no pictures or videos were allowed. Yet they will take pictures for you for $7 each. It just doesn't make sense save your money there's many other things to do on Amelia Island. Was the worst part of the trip.🙁

The horses at Kelly's are clearly well cared for and easy to control. The staff was knowledgeable and kind. You use a step stool to mount up before going on a shirt wooded trail ride and over a few sand dunes to the open beach. The ride proceeds slowly down the shoreline before turning around after 30 minutes. Riders are... More

The state park beach where you ride the horses was really pretty! Very serene & peaceful. They make you ride in a straight line the entire time though. I was a little offended when the guide spoke to me as if I was rude because the horse in front of me stopped to poop and my horse and I continued... More

My wife has always loved horses on the beach so what better way to spend our 25th wedding anniversary than this? The staff is friendly and patient with those of us with little experience and the actual trip is breathtaking. Take cash to tip your guide as that is not included in the cost and they did not offer to... More

You just walk. The entire time. And you have to stay in a line. The. Entire. Time. Not fun at all. The only good thing was that the horses were cute.

Worst experience. They leave the horses saddled all day and tie the horses with bits. That could cause serious issues if the horse set back, causing the horse to tear there mouth up or break there jaw. Unprofessional at the most. They don't know a thing about how to care for horses none of the equipment fits the horse correctly... More

When people are over-the-top nasty and abusive to our staff, we just have to refuse service. Sorry. We will not tolerate such abuse or dignify it with any response other than to say we certainly do take great care of our horses, and we are proud of a long-standing reputation for our good horsemanship. The Kelly Seahorse Ranch is a professionally run trail ride operation. The personnel and horses know their jobs. The horses are in good physical condition, have good manners, and the operation is very well organized. The emphasis is on safety & enjoying the trail/beach ride. The ride to the beach and on the beach is an amazing experience. The scenery... More

My husband ,son, and I decided while in the area to check item off bucklist. The horses are beautiful and appear to be well taken care of. We felt safe on entire ride. It was peaceful easy going ride along a beautiful stretch of beach. I could have given experience a 10 if it hadn't been for the pictures. I... More

No mistake. The pictures in question were uploaded the same day, there were 6 pictures taken of the family of three, among many other photos of them individually. There were no other guests on the tour. It is customary for ranch staff to take group pictures of riders because it is requested frequently. In fact, the ride was guided and... More
