Welcoming is the energy one receives when visiting this site.
Beautifully manicured fish tanks with very lively fish in them.
Staff ready to assist you and over all a nice place to visit.
Check their schedule as they are only open four hours in the afternoon. Great place to visit with family and kids.
I suggest you visit and give yourself at least 2 hour to read all the information.
Enjoy

Terrific two hours in Jupiter location.

Great place to take out of town guests, take about an hour, quick side activity while in town. Couple this with the Jupiter Light house or a half day paddle board tour.

The right price!!

The LRC is a great place to visit with children. We took our 4 and 7 yo and had a lovely visit. There are a number of large fish tanks with regional wildlife, interactive exhibits and a touch tank for the children to hold some sea creatures. Check the website for activities, such as Thursday morning story time and coffee, which is great for young children. There is a tiny gift shop on site. Plan to stay for about an hour.

The kids really enjoyed the touch tank with urchins, sea stars, hermit crabs and even a horse shoe crab. Lots of information to see and read about the Loxahatchee River. Great place to visit. I’d say less than 20-30 minutes per visit.

On Saturday Nov.4 we went on what was billed as the maiden voyage of the new river tour boat. It was most interesting. The new boat is one of only four in the US. It is quite unique in its design. The boat is a standard fiberglass hull with a zodiac style hard inflatable collar around the upper edge of the hull. The design makes it very safe for the passengers. When you get to the upper reaches of the river it is shallow so the draft on the boat is designed to handle that.
The hull also makes very little wake which is good since that causes erosion and damages the mangroves and cedars. By going quietly you see the wildlife and the guide will explain the plant life/birds/animals and importance of preserving this beautiful wild river. The seats are most unusual--like a saddle with a backrest. What would be the pummel is a strong hand-hold. The design makes it easy to shift your weight and balance when the boat turns. Of course they supply the life jackets--even they are different. When they hit the water they automatically inflate. The day was most enjoyable and informative. I would recommend it to anyone with kids. Just have a good sunscreen lotion and be sure to use the on shore bathroom before going out. To the operators--you might consider adding a Bimini.

We stopped in on a trip up to Jupiter. We stayed here for about an hour. They have some small aquarium tanks, including a touch tank. There is an informational shark wall. The center had teen volunteers (adults too) who were really nice, and really engaged my almost 6 yr old daughter. She really enjoyed the touch tank, while my 4 month old enjoyed watching the fish in the tanks. Can't wait for the next trip up to stop back in. No entry fee, accepts donations.

The center has lots of marine animals that kids can observe up close. The fish tanks are beautiful and a marsh display shows the interaction between wildlife and plants. There is a great gift shop and informed staff on hand to answer questions. There is lots of space outside to walk and enjoy the Burt Reynolds Park area.

The center is well maintained, but it is easy to cover quickly. There are some specimen drawers under some of the love displays. The touch tank had a variety of sea urchins, a sea cucumber, conch and sea star. There is a small butterfly garden behind the building, and a playground in the park.

Great exhibits for young people and the people who bring them. This is a fun place for everyone. The staff know a lot about the Loxahatchee River and love to share their knowledge and experiences.

Kids story time is great. Great staff. So is the touch tank. My only suggestion would be have a different age groups for story time.
