Overview
The Loxahatchee River tour starts out narrow and twisty as it meanders its along its way downstream from Riverbend Park toward the Atlantic Ocean. The round-trip tour lasts approximately 2 hours from Riverbend Park down the river, depending on water and weather conditions. You’ll pass through an incredible cypress swamp, some sandy areas and thousands of species of plants and animals. The tour will often be under the shade of a beautiful canopy of cypress trees. Currents and water levels vary with the seasons. Portage may be necessary. Please review conditions and specific tour details with staff.

Our kayak ride was more than I expected. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. We saw many turtles and a few gators. One even got spooked and left the shore and swam right under our kayak. It's a great work out if you want to really move or a leisurely trek through true Floridian "land"-scape. Being a local, I'm sorry I didn't discover this sooner. I highly recommend it and will be back again. The park as a whole is a wonderful spot.

This was a fantastic way to end the summer before school begins for the kids. Loved this scenic kayak trip. Just challenging enough on the return trip to make you feel like you’ve exerted yourself but beautiful the entire time. Highly recommend.

Been living in PB County 20 years and can't believe I had never done this! Plan to do it a lot more now for sure and a great place to take out-of-state visitors, etc. Everyone will love it! So much better than Jonathan Dickinson kayaking because the scenery/foliage/tidal pools/current areas are more interesting and there is lots of shade for the hot summer months. Just be ready for a bit of a crowd if going on weekends--not a deal breaker but if you can do it during the week it will be even better. Kayaks/equipment were in good shape and on-site staff were pleasant and polite.

My husband and I rented paddle boards with our two children (ages 12 and 14) and had a great time! We took off at the Jupiter Inlet, even though we were all relatively inexperienced, it didn't take us very long to be able to paddle out and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The service of all working at the JOC were professional, and they were very accommodating to help us have a great experience!

Not everyone will have my experience. My review is specific to the location on the Jupiter Inlet (not at Riverbend Park - which I have also been to). First off, my experience was specific to my activity and has more to do with the guy operating the kiosk at the time and less about the overall business. The business is fine - they rent kayaks and paddleboards etc. and there reasonable. That's it. But during a paddleboarding rental in Jupiter I almost lost my life (seriously). I rented a paddleboard with my wife - she opted for a kayak. I told the guy I was new to paddleboarding. He kind of "jested me on" by saying "you have to go this way and that way" along the current. I ended up getting taken by a current and almost sucked under a pier. I was rescued by a guy who heard me screaming for help and pulled me out of the water. I was covered in blood from all of the scratches from the oyster beds on the pier. My wife was in her kayak at the time and he put me in his truck and put our board/kayak in the back and drove us to the Outdoor center on the inlet. When i got there the guy said "at least you got a ride back"!!! He was not sympathetic at all to my situation. He even got on his paddleboard and paddled out to prove it can be done if done correctly. Next thing the paddleboard group tour guide came and said she was going to cancel the tour as the current was too strong. So again, the place is great for what its worth. You rent kayaks and other equipment to access the water. But my experience was horrible. The guy there didn't even offer to give us a refund or offer his apologies. He could care less.
