When my daughter said she wanted to do an escape room with her friends for her 11th birthday, I was a little skeptical the group would be able to play without an adult. I called Minder Benders and when they said they could accommodate the party of 5, we were ecstatic. When we arrived, the staff was patient with the girls, explaining what to expect and giving them tips to succeed without running the suspense of the game. The girls had a blast and even completed the Jack the Ripper room with 13 minutes to spare! We can't wait to go again as a family!

Great fun for a group!

This was our second FUN experience at Mind Benders in Jax Beach FL. This was a great challenge for our group of six, mixed ages - 18-81. The game was The Jewel Heist where we had to find the ruby via a number of codes, locks, keys, boxes, pictures, books, maps and more. It involves critical thinking and calculating how to get to the next clue. There's one hour and we finished at the last second with the ruby in hand. (Note: there are several escape room challenges to try; last year we did NOT get out of the room in the hour.) This year was more fun.

We always have a good time at escape rooms, this one was no different. The staff is friendly, the place of clean. Temperatures are taken so to keep everyone safe and healthy. Will always recommend people to try escape rooms.

Great Escape Room Experience!

I have played about 30 different room escape games, all over the world, and Mindbender Escape Room games are awesome! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the staff who are friendly and present (no aloof teens snapchatting here!). The lobby is large and there is ample seating. We were escorted to an area where we could secure our valuables and use the restroom before the game. We played Captain Mayhem's Revenge. Before entering the room, we watched a video about the rules and a video about the game itself. I especially liked this because at other room escape places, people just read you the story and it doesn't really seem that special. Here, it really starts to bring you into the theme of the room you are about to enter. The game itself was challenging but fun! There were a lot of really unique features they had using special technology - this for me was a BIG step up from a lot of other games out there. Another thing I really enjoyed was the fact that their items were new / in good condition. It's hard because I know, whether intentionally or not, people can be destructive playing these games and it often shows in the condition of the items in the room. Here, it is very evident that they take pride in the experience they are providing you. And it is an experience. The story, the music, the props - provide an immersive experience which I really enjoyed! We managed to escape with just a few minutes remaining (yay us!) After we escaped, we were sitting in the lobby, talking to the staff and learned that one of their rooms was a horror themed room. Okay, so um, here we go! Let's play another room! And let me just say that after talking up the immersive experience of the pirate themed room - I nearly peed my pants in this horror themed room. I don't want to give away their tricks and the techniques they used to make the room super creepy, but I will say, if your heart is strong enough, definitely try out that room! Unfortunately, we didn't manage to escape but we did have a lot of fun! Mindbender Escape Rooms is a step above the rest. They provide unique, immersive, high quality games. So stop reading my awesome review, and go book a room now!

DON'T TOUCH THAT!!

So we went to this escape room for the first time to celebrate my husbands bday! We are big fans of escape rooms, this was our 8th time doing one! I have to say I have never been to an escape room where more than half of the items in the room you could not touch! And was told by the person helping us "don't touch that" "put that back" or "pick that up"!! Over and over again, I wish I counted how many times I heard him say that to us, I would have to guess close to 20 or more times!! We have been to many escape rooms and know the just of what not to touch! We were not going crazy and throwing things around the room, nor did we touch the things that were labeled dont touch, none of that! After 20 min in the room I was afraid to touch anything!!! I felt like a scalded child when I left there! I will have to choose other escape rooms in Jax over this one now bc of this experience, which is sad! The overall room and puzzles were really good!! Hopefully they can get these issues resolved soon! There were more rooms I wanted to do!

Thank you very much for the feedback. We are truly sorry you didn’t have a 5 start visit. Our ultimate goal is to provide the most immersive, fun experience possible. We will certainly take your review and use it as a training tool at our next staff meeting. We have been open for a month and there have been several things broken and destroyed since, including someone barreling through the second entrance to a room and, literally, cracking off pieces of the door frame rendering the room inoperable for other guests for a period of time. As the owner I take full responsibility as we told our staff to make sure that guests know what may or may not be a clue and to please be careful with sensitive props and decorations. Some may have gone overboard in trying to control that and we will definitely address the issue immediately. We hope you will come visit us again in the future and enjoy yourself much more this time as we are always trying to work hard to improve the experience for everyone. Thanks again for the feedback!

One of the Best Escape Rooms

We had such a wonderful time here! Having been to many escape rooms around the US, we can attest that this is one of the best! Jack the Tipper proved to be challenging, but with perseverance we made it out just in the nick of time.
Don’t miss this place! You will not be disappointed.

Had a ball failing!

This was our 2nd attempt at "escaping", and we failed yet again. But I can say with all honesty that we had an absolute ball trying. I was with my wife, youngest daughter and my mother and to be honest my 13 yr old got us further along than anyone else. You can tell that a lot of work went into designing the Wood Shed, and some of the tasks seemed way out of reach, once explained, but overall great experience, and would love to do it again and finally finish one.

Challenging!

Our first time. Thought we had a chance... Ha. However, we had a great time. Everyone was very friendly and professional. We will definitely try another room. We were a group of 5.
Just split up and follow the clues. We did and still fell short.
If everyone concentrates on one thing you won't get out.

We had a blast!

My family went to the Mind Benders Escape Rooms a week before Christmas. Since there were only five of us, we originally were booked for Jack the Ripper. No other rooms were booked at the same time as ours so we were able to change and do Humbug's Christmas Caper. Before we got started, we were each required to sign a waiver form. Then we were shown the restrooms (very clean) and individual lockers (free of charge) to hold our personal items. No cell phones were allowed inside the rooms. We were shown a safety video, and an introductory video about Humbug's Christmas Caper. I would love to say that we all "escaped" within an hour, but alas, no. We were on the last clue so probably another five or ten minutes and we would be free! We all had a great time and absolutely plan to go again. The staff was very helpful, and it was quite obvious they love their jobs - they were all amazing! Afterwards a group picture is taken to be posted on the Mind Benders Facebook page. You can recognize us by the #epicfail sign! I'm sure our next trip will be successful!

Fun times!
