- RDRReviewAlexandria, Minnesota286 contributionsNice quiet, quaint beachWe’re staying at a location near the beach and I walked there daily. Picnic tables, soft sand, pavilion, and three great restaurants all in about a couple of blocks. Inn on the Gulf, Sam’s Beach Bar and Ollie’s. Great sunsets at Sam’s, excellent seafood at Inn on the Gulf, and relaxed, down home great food at Ollie’sVisited March 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten March 24, 2020
- clpjr2000Ravenna, Ohio363 contributionsWell kept but miss leadingFirst off this is not a beach. There is sand if to side if the covered picnic area. But surround by concert and does not connect to water. Very well kept and clean. Great view with places to cookout and picnic. Great sunset view. There is way down to water but not appealing as all rock, dirt and alge. Worth going if you know what your getting.Visited January 2020Traveled with friendsWritten January 5, 2020
- phyrman21West Jordan, Utah408 contributionsQuaintThis isn’t a traditional beach with sand and volleyball and piers. It’s a nice place to walk along the edge of the ocean. Great place to see the sunset. And there a couple food joints and bars close by for those needs as well. If you’re looking for sandcastles and beach frisbee, this isn’t it. It’s a quaint little area to enjoy the sounds of nature near the ocean.Visited March 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten March 15, 2023
- Suesickles13 contributionsNot a lounging beachThe name suggests a sandy place to set up a beach chair and stick your toes in the sand. There is a small spit of sand and access to the water, but seriously you wouldn’t want to swim in that water. It’s on the mouth of the canal inter coastal system with boats constantly going by. Not very clean or calm. The rest of the “beach” is walled walkway with pavilions to have a picnic. The walkway isn’t that long either. Positive thing it’s a great place to see a sunset. Sam’s beach bar is right there and a decent place to eat, drink, and watch the gulf. You’ll have to drive a bit to go to a sandy beach on the gulfVisited February 2020Traveled as a coupleWritten February 28, 2020
- dlinda23Corner Brook, Canada69 contributionsSmall beachThis is a great place to watch the sunsets over the water. It is a small man-made beach that has shelter and sitting areas as well as several bbq pits available for people to use. Grab a coffee/ice cream and enjoy the views! Not really a place for a good walk on the beach - just a short stroll.Visited March 2018Traveled as a coupleWritten April 6, 2018
- LORRIE SWeeki Wachee, Florida57 contributionsGreat Beach for sitting-NOT SWIMMING$5 to park in a small lot. The lot itself had plenty of spaces available, at 10am (shoulda been a clue there) A small strip of sand, then a bunch of slimy rocks, then the water/swimming area. The swimming area itself is about the size of a kiddie pool (at it's deepest) and it is a nasty, smelly brownish/blackish water. Honestly, it scared me to think of swimming in it. The covered pavilion/picnic area is super nice with plenty of tables and a nice 2nd story observation deck for looking out over the Gulf. If you just want to hang out, read a book, have a picnic, or get some pretty pictures-it's great for that. Anything else-forget it. Sam's Beach Bar is here.Visited August 2015Traveled with familyWritten August 18, 2015

The parking is free and there are shelters available on a first come basis. I would rather head to Fred Howard park or even make the drive to Clearwater (and pay for parking) for sugar white sand and lots of space.Visited September 2019Written September 19, 2019

Parking is very minimal so if you want to see a sunset, go early. Just don't go in the water, as the beach is frequently closed because of bacteria. The houses in the area are on septic systems that often discharge into the cove.Visited August 2019Written September 1, 2019

nice view, unsafe beach water. 2 nice restaurants on the beach with a great view of the Gulf of Mexico. Beach water often has high bacteria levels due to homes nearby discharging septic systems. Great place to watch sunset. Arrive at least one hour before sunset, limited parking.

Went to see Hudson Beach on our recent holiday from the UK to Gulf Coast Florida. Last time we visited,, two years ago, we were chased out by a big storm and Hudson was closed.
We noticed that since that last visit the parking charges on the street have been withdrawn but the big potholes and puddle on the circle are still there to catch the unwary!
During a nice stroll along the front we admired the 'new' block sea wall along the path. The tide was right in and we could see a lot of tiny fish swimming. We sat on one of the swings for a while before going further along to the end where there was a large family of mixed ducks on the grass. We were disappointed that there was a lot of plastic litter and old fishing line lying about & we picked up quite a bit and placed it where it should have been put in the first place !
We then went to Sam's Bar for our evening meal and sat out on the deck by the water and watched the sun go down as we ate.

SunWest Mines is a great alternative. It’s just a couple miles north of Hudson Beach. It’s always very clean and a great family beach.
Can you fish there?
JENEinVEGAS
Hudson, FL188 contributions
Yes, but you need a fishing license. You may want to go to a different beach though. Early in July the beach was closed due to excessive fecal matter in the water. You can check the Pasco County website for updated closurer information.
Is there a restroom?
Kim M
Hudson, FL6 contributions
Yes there are outdoor rest rooms. Right next to Sam's Beach Bar. A small child's playground is right next to it. Your typical park type restrooms.
