This place is quite a gem! A small, beautiful slice of nature amongst Florida's second largest airport, a busy port with departing cruise ships, a popular resort vacation destination and suburban sprawl. Kudos to the environmentalists that preserved it - doesn't seem like an easy task in Florida! (I work for an environmental nonprofit up north that works to preserve... More

I was visiting family in the Hollywood area, and we decided to spend an afternoon at Anne Kolb Nature Center, after driving past it on the way to/from the airport many times. We were so pleased to find this peaceful slice of nature amid the hustle and bustle of South Florida. Every staff person we encountered was welcoming, helpful, and... More

My husband and I were staying in the Hollywood, FL area for two days, and discovered the nature center was just a short drive away. Upon our arrival, we saw boat tours were offered, and we bought our tickets for a morning tour. It was a very educational ride through the mangrove canals, narrated by our very friendly and knowledgable... More

What a great park area to enjoy a picnic or a sandwich purchased from one of the local restaurants. Peaceful and with smell of salt in the air and the sound of the Atlantic Ocean in the distance. So nice. Nice place to empty the mind and take a few deep breaths and go about your day. Many places for... More

I had traveled by the sign at the entrance to the Anne Kobe Nature Center several times, and when my children said they wanted to take a trip to the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale area I knew what would be on the itinerary! Several months in advance I arranged for a guided tour of the facility and a boat ride around the... More

We were looking for a little nature adventure close to home, and this center gave us exactly what we wanted. We first walked around the board walks, which are short but absolutely lovely. They even had a bench in the shade where it would have been nice to have a small picnic. We went up the tower, which has an... More

The boardwalk is not a very long walk but it is nice. My children enjoyed it. Lots of trees, not much of a view outside of that until you climb the observation deck that shows more trees.

I can't tell you about learning because I have been there only to enjoy the weather under a canopy, read a book and ride my bike... sometimes even to practice fronton (tennis vs a wall) However, the nice settings, peaceful (I don't go on weekends) during the week and nice places to sit and read (or enjoy the views) make... The boat ride was a nice way to cool off a bit, but there really was not a lot of info given, except for the history of the place, which you could read yourself in the reviews. But you MUST plan your trip to be there on Saturday or Sunday at 2:00 p.m. when they feed the fish in the... More
