Ok so I can’t swim at all but my son can so I was extremely hesitant to try this however the staff was very knowledgeable and showed and taught us how to maneuver the kayak. I highly recommend the guided kayaking tour for first timers. Planning another adventure soon.

We visited—two grandparents, one parent, one 13-year old, and rented four kayaks from Sean. He was friendly, helpful, and relaxed. He provided us a cooler full of chilled bottles of water, but we managed OK on what we brought. We had a number of options of where to go, for example simple paddling, but we all have experience, so chose to go with a more challenging option: going through the mangrove swamp across the channel from where we rented. This proved to be something between a maze and an escape room. Sometimes we’d be going through spaces so narrow we had to squeeze the kayaks through cypress routes, other times canals that were maybe 10 feet wide. We saw amazing waterfowl, saw one fish jumping, and were glad to not see any alligators or snakes. We had taken a picture of the map Sean posted, and based on his suggestion, used Google Maps to locate ourselves in the swamp, but there was still a lot of guesswork. There were times we wondered when we’d finally make our way back to the rental place—our planned 90 minutes became 2 hours, but Sean didn’t charge us an extra fee. This was not aerobic the way whitewater can be, but it was challenging, proved a good test of how well we as a family were able to make decisions, and believe me, we were a bit sore and quite tired by the time it was all done. Suggestion: make sure at least one of your party has a water-resistant phone (or phone in a good case) with a good charge, and consider bringing a booster battery. Bring some snacks. And bring a good sense of humor. We had a great time. If we’re ever in this area again, we’re going to do this again. …

I went here approx Dec 28 2019 to go for a short kayak outing. The weather was a bit rainy, but I was dressed for it. At least is was not cold. The store location is very near a protected mangrove swamp and lake, with lots of different interesting routes to take. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the equipment provided was in good condition. I was provided with a cooler containing ice and water, which I thought was a nice touch. There is paid parking not too far away.…

First time for my son and I. The staff were not only professional they were extremely friendly and helpful. They provide everything you need including water and a cooler. The rates were really reasonable. We will definitely use this business again on our return trip.
