Captain John worked very hard to provide a great experience for all of us on the charter. He was very attentive and helpful to those of us that were less experienced, providing helpful suggestions. He was persistent in finding fish, resulting in a great experience for all of us.

My son and I had a wonderful day on the water fishing with Captain John! John is extremely knowledgeable and helpful in every way. We caught Snook, Jack Crevalle, Reds, and over 40 Trout. I got my first in-shore slam. I would highly recommend Captain John!

Captain John was awesome putting us right on fish scoring a triple slam. We caught nice snook, redfish, trout, & jack crevalle. Beautiful scenery. We even saw manatees, dolphins, & ospreys. Highly recommend.

On 1/5/22 I paid John Fishback, Charter Captain, New Port Ritchie $600.00 for 1/2 day Charter for 2 people on 4/5/22. He said he would communicate with me by email. He never did. The day before the 5th charter I called him with no answer. I called a second time, no response. About 8 pm on the 4th I got Captain Jared A/K/A Jared's Fishing Charters to agree to take me and my visiting grandson on 4/5 at 9:00 am. We caught 15 fish...including two 27" redfish by Noah my grandson. Jarred was a super captain and bailed me out due to John Fishback standing me up. On 4/6 Fishback responded saying I never paid him so I was not on active list which was wrong as I had paid him and he never communicated that to me nor answer my telephone pleas for response up to day of agreement. I am very disappointed in John's service but really pleased with Captain Jared's service Guardian Angel last minute "Save the Day" performance and would recommend Captain Jared HIGHLY.

Had a great day out on the water with Capt. John! He worked really hard for us to make memories. We started out slow, but the fishing picked up and we finished strong! Capt. John moved us to multiple locations in order to find the bite. He was really patient with my 10 year old son and was a wealth of knowledge regarding fishing techniques, bait, and fish location. As we were walking back to the car at the end of the trip, my son was asking me to make sure we go again next year when we visit! Highly recommended!

Let the buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Booked with "Capt" John for a two day Tarpon fishing trip for May 16-17, 2016. First day he was 3 1/2 hours late leaving the dock due to several lame excuses. We were suppose to leave the dock at 6:00 AM but actually left at 9:30AM.Fished for 5 hours and had zero strikes. We did get to enjoy the wonderful aroma of "Capt" John chain smoking in the boat all day. He had to have smoked 3 packs of cigarettes. We ended the day early because there were no active fish to be found. I questioned "Capt" John on why we should even bother fishing the second day. His response was that we should get out early before sunrise to catch the fish before they are disturbed by other boats. My response was I thought that is what we were suppose to do today. "Capt. John assured me that if we left the dock by 6:00 AM we would be fine. He instructed us to be at the gate to the marina at 5:45 AM. He claimed he would be there at 5:45 to open the gate, which would be locked. Next morning, 5-17-2016 we were at the gate at 5:45 AM sharp but no "Capt" John and the gate was locked. We waited until 6:15 AM and I tried to call "Capt" John but no answer on his cell. I then received a text from Capt John around 6:30 AM that he was running late and would be there in a half hour or so. At this point I texted "Capt" John back and told him that being consistently late for charter trips when you are the Captain is not acceptable. I also told him that I would be cancelling the trip that day because he was unreliable. He then threatened to charge my credit card, which he did and it is now under dispute.

There are a number of really good fishing charters in the Clear Water, FL area but this circus is not one of them. Save your time, lungs and money and fish with anyone but "Capt" John Fischbach. Worst fishing experience of my life.

Just moved to Tarpon Springs area and I have no salt water fishing experience. I did a full day charter w Captain John to learn the area and the techniques. He is like fishing with an old friend. Immediately likeable, I learned about the area, how to fish the targeted species, and how important it is to understand tides & wind in the flats. I was fortunate enough to hit the slam! I caught a redfish, snook, and sea trout in one outing. My wife caught several more sea trout and Mike filleted them and we had the chef at Miss Vicki's grill them for dinner. John and Mike were also very good teachers with my wife, helping her with techniques and tips. All around a very fun day.

When taking your 9-year old son fishing while on vacation, there is always the risk that he'll not catch anything. That being said, Capt. John made it his mission to make sure we hooked and landed some fish during our visit to Clearwater. We set up the departure time based on tide and weather via cell phone the night before the charter. Within 20 minutes of leaving the dock, my son had a nice Crevalle jack on the line. We also caught redfish, snook, and a sea trout. This is an excellent 1/2 day charter that is easy to get to if you are in the Clearwater or Palm Harbor area. Everything needed was provided, and Capt. John will filet the fish dockside if you so desire (staying at a hotel, we were there just for catch and release). As a bonus, the Anclote Village Marina had a lively outdoor bar called Miss Vicki's that was a great post-charter stop. Solid boat and solid 25+ year fishing experience in the area made this a no brainer for an easy family fishing experience and a lot of local flavor/anecdotes from Capt. John.

Great guide. First class gear, boat, premium bait and most importantly put us on fish. Limited on trout and top of the slot reds in half a day....in January. Can't say that too often! Funny too......

Capt. John Fischbach did an amazing job. We wanted to focus on inshore fish and Capt. John put us on Trout and Redfish first thing in the morning. Second day we were on Snook. We got to experience many different areas of the Anclote Key / New Port Richey hot spots. He worked very hard all day both days and it was one of the best charters I've ever been on. I definitely will be back a lot. Thanks Capt. John!!
