“a bit of history”
Local museum in historic downtown High Springs, Florida (near Gainesville). Inside the restored schoolhouse you'll learn about our railroad history, the local springs, how our town grew and the things to do in the area. Kid-friendly.

I'm not really sure why this place exists. There is little to see although the building is lovely. The person who was working or volunteering was very nice, but it's a one-time (if that!) stop.

High Springs has done a good job with their museum. They have a handle on their own local history, land marks, historical people and events. The museum is well maintained, with a good staff.

This is a nice, laid-back small-town museum, which tries to interpret its local history, with some success. One of the highlights is a model railroad, showing the town in its heyday as a railroad town. The docents are invariably friendly, but seemed somewhat lacking in...More
