This is honestly the best bang for the buck!
I used to live in FL and this is my first time back in quite a few years. I'd never done anything like this while living here and thought I'd give it a try. I was beyond pleasantly surprised.
First, both the captains/guides were incredibly friendly and helpful. They weren't overly excited, they were simply genuine and worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone was having a great time. During the boat rides to and from the island, they scanned the water continuously looking for dolphins and were successful several times. They made sure to circle around to allow the dolphins the chance to join the journey and they actually stayed with the boat swimming and jumping for a good stretch of time. Long enough for you to really enjoy seeing them and get pictures/videos.
Once we arrived at the island they gave us a quick run down of instructions - you don't need much, it's a small island - and sent us off to explore. It's nothing super exciting, but nice history and a GREAT beach. There were other people there on their own or from other groups, but not overcrowded at all. Next we moved around the island to snorkel. That was truly an awesome experience. I have never snorkeled and because of this experience I have discovered a new past time! (I came straight home and ordered equipment) They were careful to make sure we new what we were doing and what to expect and then again, gave us the freedom to explore. While we were enjoying ourselves Dave, one of the guides, did all he could to find small bits of ocean wildlife that he could safely pull up to show everyone, especially the kiddos (young and old), before making sure they were safely returned to their habitat. Because of their guidance this was honestly one of the most relaxing experiences I've ever had.
The beauty in all of it was there were several transitions, you weren't doing anything for too long a time, and you weren't overheating. Let's face it, it is Florida in the summer time. The experience is well planned and timed and probably the best $60 bucks I've ever spent. Don't waste your time with more expensive excursions, this one will make certain you feel every dime you spent was well worth it!

The crew was fun and created an enjoyable atmosphere. They were funny and made you feel welcomed. They were great with my kids. They worked hard on finding dolphins and made sure everyone was able to see a good dolphin show. On our trip we even got to see Manatees. Snorkeling and shelling on Egmont Beach was so much for us. My kids loved the trip. This was my 3rd time doing this exact trip and my kids’ second time. It is always so much fun and it is worth every penny spent. The rates are very reasonable for all the activities you participate in during the 4 hour trip.

This boat tour is great for family and friends. the captains are amazing! They took us on a longer boat ride to make sure we saw dolphins and prices are completely fair and reasonable. definitely recommend!

This was bate and switch. I was charged 18% gratuity on my trip!!!! I booked a cruise for my niece's birthday for 12 people in advance. I was not required to provide a deposit on the phone, so I thought I was good. I happened to see the business stand when I walked around town and stopped to ask a question about the cruise. Blair then told me that I would need to put down a $110 deposit to hold my spot and I needed to call Frank to let him know that I had paid my deposit and would be on the boat. When I called Frank, who turned out to be the owner, he was extremely rude to me and said, "you took money out of my pocket" because I paid the deposit to Blair at the business stand. I am not sure how that is possible when it is supposed to be the same business because of how rude Frank wasn't sure if we still had a place on the boat. I showed up and was able to get on the cruise. That's where the bate and switch happened. I was charged at the end of the cruise, and my bill included a charge of $106 an 18% tip. I was told by Frank that was standard. There was no sign at their business location on the pamphlet or on the boat that stated I would be charged this!!! I have been on several types of excursions, and I have never been charged a mandatory tip. I don't mind tipping when it's warranted; however, this board had no kid's lifejackets, and the snorkeling masks were too big for kids. Everyone had to climb on the outside of the board to get off at the island (not safe for small children or older adults).
I would never recommend this operation to anyone that I know. Be aware that if you have a large group, you might get scammed.

I want to start off by saying I have never written a bad review before, but I want to warn others, do NOT waste your money and save yourself from the abuse of this Captain. Go with another tour. Right off the bat, the captain was rude. He made fun of a man who couldn't swim during the trip; however, the worst part was at the end. I have never been treated like this caption treated us when we went to pay. First, he belittled multiple customers while on the boat, then in front of us in line. Then they raised the price it wasn't what it is on the website. They crossed out the website price and just wrote in a new price. We put in our credit card in the bill envelope because we didn't want to argue, then we tipped cash to the deck hand which we were told we could. When the caption went to charge our cards he said where is my tip I said I gave it to the other deck hand on the boat and he said it's an automatic 18% tip. I restated, I gave it to the deckhand, which he then yelled at me that the tip was supposed to be put in the envelope that you give to him, which he didn't state when handing out the bill envelopes. I then said also, the pricing on your website is wrong and he went off started yelling at us that was his old website. He was so rude yelling at us calling us names and belittling us in front of everyone on his hate filled rant. I stated, I was just telling you so you could update your website, but the continued yelling went on until our card was finally ran. I have never been treated so badly ever in my life. On the way out I could still hear him yelling about how stupid we were... then a worker at the dock stopped us on the way out and said he was sorry that this captain does this on a daily basis, this captain should be out of business period nobody deserves to be treated like this.

The boat was interesting to say the least, we saw it and said “is that really our boat”. The boat was crusty as well. It took an hour to get out to the island, more time than we got to spend shelling there. After shelling we went snorkeling. They are just googles and a little snorkel that you could buy at Walmart. I would actually recommend that you buy them from Walmart yourself and go to a different island for it. We snorkeled in the sand bar and sea grass. The only cool thing was that someone found a star fish and they let everyone hold it, we did see some dolphins that were jumping and that they was very exciting. The captain was very grouchy and rude to the crew guy. The crew member with the red beard was very helpful and told us when to video tape, he wanted to go snorkeling but the captain would NOT let him. He was the only positive for the trip. I would not waste your time on it.

Not even 10 minutes into the cruise we saw a group of Dolphins swimming through the wake. The tour guide did such a good job of knowing how to get their attention for us & we got a solid 10-minute show of the dolphins following the wake!!! Made the trip worth it just off of that! Thanks guys!

Great crew, even better views. Initially were afraid we wouldn’t get any dolphin activity but the crew made it happen. Crew manipulated the wake of the boat in such a way that it attracted the dolphins right in. Dolphins jumped up and over the wake and were within feet of the boat. Extremely cool to see them up close in the wild rather than in captivity. Unfortunately I was too stoked about seeing the dolphins I didn’t get my phone out to take a video/pics. Would go again.

If you want to see dolphins this is the tour to go on!
On the way out to the island we seen dolphins in the water and jumping and playing in the wake of the boat. On the way back from the island we seen a family of 3 dolphins following the boat and leaping out by the side of the boat simultaneously.
The shelling was not our favourite (just a personal preference) but the snorkeling great fun in shallower water.
The captains were great, very helpful and ensured we seen dolphins. The boat had spare water and plenty of seating and shade.
We would definitely do this tour again!

These guys work so hard to make sure everyone has a great day. Enough time at each stop that no one is bored, but never feels rushed either. Our kids saw tortoises on the island, manatees and dolphins in the water, and a zillion fish when we snorkeled.

I have always taken the early afternoon cruise but they are good at finding dolphins

The trip out to the island is about 30 minutes, but it might take longer depending on the excitement of the Dolphins. Check out the video on our new website: dolphinsnorkelingcruisecom. You can tell by the excitement of the roaring crowd how thrilling the trip really is.
