Good visual representation of how far our planets are apart from each other.
Apr 2021
I see these obelisks whenever I drive by in my car, they show how far apart the planets are, so they stretch for blocks, I don't see many people walking the path. but you get the idea while driving by. Walking would be good exercise in the am when it isn't so hot during summer months.

Nice Stroll

We parked at Westside Park, off 8th Avenue. It's a nice park with a playground, sports facilities, a pool, and a picnic area.

From there, we walked the entire Solar Walk and back. There's a bench at the end. Very interesting and informative.

On our way from Florida to our home Houston TX we decided to stop at the Solar Walk in Gainesville, FL.. Traveling with a 16 & 12 yr old I have to say they were excited and loved our stop. Very easy to get to from HWY 75 (10 min) nice neighborhood and next to a park and wildlife trails. Free easy parking and nice crosswalks. Nice, Free , healthy, educational experience for all.

Not a place to go visit, its a drive by only unless you live in the neighborhood

its on a very busy street and there is literally nothing to see, you can do a drive by and see it all. no shade on the sidewalk. not sure why this wasn't placed in a park

we drove by it on our way to the disappearing ron jons. never knew about it. was purddy neat. it starts at the sun. and for a representative distance it goes to the next planet. even had my favorite planet on it, pluto. was really neat, you should drive down it.

Such a wonderful idea, gives you a visual perspective about the planets and how they relater to one another and the sun.

Very interesting and educating walk through the planets. Nice neighborhood and very cool idea for kids to learn about the planets. You should walk around if in Gainsville.

My niece and nephew had a good time "walking" the solar system. Great place to take out of town visitors.

Great Place for A Walk

You and your family will enjoy time together strolling along this
'solar walk.' Stop at each monument to read how it corresponds to our lunar system.

More decoration than attraction
Oct 2018 • Couples
The Solar Walk is more of a Gainesville decoration than an individual attraction. Although the pillars are artsy and the science is interesting, I would not take visitors here although I might mention it while driving by.
