The building is Gainesville's old post office, but this is do much more. The basement can be rented for small gatherings, the first floor is an art gallery, bar and movie theater and the third floor is the main theater. Funky productions, foreign films and speaking programs dominate the agenda. The Holiday productions are not to be missed.

We attend this theater regularly, being a season ticket holder for the past 3 years. Most plays are good. This past one Toxic Avenger, was exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone wishing for a laugh and pleasant evening. The show is full of energy and moves fast. Never a boring moment. A very creative and interesting mix of theatrical elements.

I'm a huge HIPP fan and have had season tickets for going on two decades. Saw the preview of Toxic Avenger last night. WOW. Possibly the best musical they've done, (and they're always super.) Outstanding talent and energy, with costume changes that remind me of a Broadway show. Fast moving and entertaining. The music was written by a Bon Jovi... More

I absolutely LOVE the HIPP. We've been several times and it is always a fantastic experience. We've been as couples, friends, and as a family! Beautiful venue and excellent talent is brought in for shows!

Went for our first performance last week, and wish we'd gone sooner. Very neat experience to see live theater in such an up close environment. There isn't a bad seat in the house, and you're close enough that you feel as if you're part of the action. We saw Women in Jeopardy with friends, and we really enjoyed the experience.... More

Hadn't visited the Hipp in many years since changing jobs. But recently some friends wanted to go see a play. So we went to see Honky Tonk Angels. I had forgotten how fun it was to go downtown for dinner and then to a play.

The theatre is located in an old historic post office building. The design of the seating and stage makes the audience feel like they are part of the show. We saw the recent production of Peter and the Starcatcher which was hilarious.

A great old building, fun to look at, but it's even better to take in a performance. We saw the Snow Queen and it was captivating.
