Overview

This 620 acre park is home to the state's second largest Live Oak tree that's estimated to be about 400 years old. A short walking trail that starts close to the park's ranger station allows you to get an even closer look. A canal connects the park to Lake Griffin, where visitors can enjoy boating, fishing and canoeing. Don't have your own boat? Don't worry, we rent them here! For only $6.00/hr you can explore the waterways via canoe or kayak. If you'd prefer to stay on land you can observe the park's wildlife while picnicking or strolling along the nature trail. If you need more than a day to explore a shady, full-facility campground is available. Please note, while there are places to swim close by, no swimming is allowed in the park.

We camped with a big group of friends, all ages. Had a great time. The beginning of our trip we were all commenting how nicely maintained the bathrooms were. Plenty of hot water! It was great. Unfortunately a family arrived whose children kept locking the...More

Good afternoon Alicia239. Thank you for spending your Christmas at Lake Griffin State Park! While we do indeed have an amphitheater with a screen we think your screen at the pavilion looked great and are considering using that solution INSTED of our amphitheater for showing...More

Good morning Carol! We're glad you spend Thanksgiving with us! Site 19 is one of my favorite sites even given it's proximity to the dump station so I'm happy to hear it met your expectations. I'm not sure what glowstick bowling is but it sounds...More

I'm a native Floridian who has lived not too far from Lake Griffin State Park, but I have to admit that, while I've visited a large number of our state and local parks, preserves and forests, I never stopped in here until now. Glad I...More

Good after Ryan! I'm glad to hear you finally got to visit the park! We get the "I've-lived-right-down-the-road-for-years-and-never-stopped-by" a lot and it's those people who tend to enjoy the park the most. If you've never tried a canoe or kayak give it a shot; kayaks...More

This place makes for a good picnic spot or place to go fishing, just do not forget the bug spray. The trails are nice and the fishing is decent. I would reccomend going when it is cooler.

Not a large park compared to others, but beautiful with a boat launch area and canoe rentals. Also has a playground for the kids including a swing for wheelchairs. Lots of areas to sit and pavilions available.More

We use the state park mainly for convenience. The park is near family and the cost is low. The park is on a canal leading to Lake Griffin and is used mainly by fishermen. The rangers do a good job keeping it clean and neat....More

We were camping in a travel trailer but there were people in tents and people in large rvs. It's a small park but it was perfect. We were close to restaurants and shopping.
