Beautiful white sands and excellent view if you are lucky enough to get a place right on the beach. Dolphins, terns, herons, etc. are abundant. Enjoyed unseasonably warm weather for December--70s all week we were there. Great walking to Airforce area which many do not...More

Beautiful beaches and a nice choice of restaurants to choose from! If all you want to do is walk along a beautiful gulf beach, you can do that. If you want a calmer walk on the sound side, you can do that too. If you're...More

We have stayed on three properties on Okaloosa Island and have never been disappointed with this beach. The city keeps it swept and cleaned up. Walks are always romantic, but especially at night! Destin is great to visit, but Okaloosa Island/Fort Walton Beach is the...More

Wonderful place to come and stay a week. They keep the beaches clean and worth spending the day there. Or of course, get a condo and stay the whole week.

I visited Okaloosa Island partially by accident. My daughter lives in Fort Walton Beach, and she is new to the area, and I somewhat blindly picked a hotel on the island. I will now be a lifetime visitor of the area. I am so impressed...More

We paid two bucks each and walked out on the pier. Saw lots of very small fish in the water. No dolphins. We asked when was the best time of day to see dolphins and they just said anytime. Several people were fishing from the...More

Cold weather dramatically reduces the crowds and activities. There are a variety of activities available which can be seen from Hwy 98. There are dozens of BIG seafood restaurants. Rentals for water crafts from "skidoos" to pontoon boats abound. Tourist traps with fancy lights to...More

We enjoyed driving around the island and walking along the beach both in the day time and at night--the lighted pier is spectacular.
