    Spectacular views
The pier was really spacious and long. There was a $2 charge to walk down the pier , but you got a stamp and it was good for the entire day. They also sell bait on the pier for fishing. The views are beautiful for the pier, especially at sunset.
Thank you for the review! We are thrilled you enjoyed your visit!!!!

    Nice walking and viewing
Great way to see some the marine life and watch people fish. We saw a couple of big sharks. It’s hot up there so grab some waters when you pay to walk. They sell ice cream and drinks as well.

    Loved this place!
We came on Friday to fish for Spanish Mackerel and had the absolute best fishing day ever! We have fished several piers in several states on the Atlantic and Gulf, but this by far was the most beautiful water and most action we've ever had. The staff was great and we had no complaints. The crane named Fred was a trip, he has such an attitude and made us laugh a lot. He stole one of our mackerels off of the cleaning table. We will definitely be back!

It cost $2 to go onto the pier and is worth every penny. You can also pay to fish, rent poles, get bait, etc. There were lots of fishermen which was fun to watch and families just enjoying the day.

This was a neat experience, although $2 a person is ridiculous to me! The pier was packed with fisherman...son that were not as friendly as others. Most looked like they were having a good time, but many looked annoyed with little kids watching. We felt like we were dodging hooks...saw a sea turtle, sharks and dolphins around sunset.

Sandersonfam, We are a fishing pier first and foremost, and fishermen have the right of way at all times. With that being said there is multiple signage to warn spectators of hooks. The $2 to walk goes into maintaining the pier, which has absolutely zero tax paying dollars funding it. Maintaining the pier comes with a hefty price tag. We hope you return again and have a better experience. Regards,

When I first moved here, I met a girl, and we went to the pier after a dinner date. We took in the view, the smells, the bait shack and all the fishermen with their lines in water, with salivating seagulls almost at their elbows. The Blue Herons that ignored us, as well as the mryiad antics of swooping Pelicans. We even saw a c pod of dolphins. While I was there I discovered a few things - I fell in loved the view, the gulf and her. We were married two months to day at the pier, and it has always been a very special place to us. I can't promise anyone it will lead to marriage there, but I can promise that if you open your heart, you will discover the quiet magic.

I’ve fished many piers, and it’s always been the same kind of person working. Take your money, send you on your way. Not here, Torrance was absolutely a breath of fresh air with his customer service. He advised us what could be biting and what would be the best tactic for the we were there. He took his time giving everyone we saw individual personal one on one customer service. Then the icing on the cake, the piers manager was actually walking up and down the pier and interacting with all the guests. Helped my friends son who is autistic tie his rig and helped him out which he brought in a bunch of the large suckerfish. You just don’t see people taking the extra step in customer service these days! The overall value is worth the money, but their customer service makes our experience priceless!

We wanted to stroll the pier because we could see it from our balcony, walked under it and decided to walk it for another perspective. There is a $2- pp entry fee which is good for all day of hanging or walking...more if you want to fish, I think.
This would be a perfect place to toss in a line a fish the day away as the pier appears to be well maintained and well attended to.

Whether just taking a stroll out over the gulf or trying your hand at fishing (or as we call it, feeding the fish), the pier is a great and inexpensive way to spend a little time. Every time we’re there we see some kind of wildlife - fish, turtles, dolphins, sharks - swimming by. It’s exciting when a fisherman hauls in a very large fish.

So here's the deal, to actually go to the Fishing pier, you need to pay. It's $2 if you are fishing it's $5.

It has beautiful scenery but it could use a good cleanup, watch out for fish guts and fishing wire as you walk.

On a weekend, it is packed, but you will find some solitude in the early mornings watching the sunrise.

We do our best to keep the place as clean as we possibly can, nearly half the entire span of the pier is pressure washed nightly, and with the labor shortage this has been a pretty impressive task. But yes we are a fishing pier and there will be fish blood throughout the day. We do our best to clean as much as we can daily. Cleaning operations begin at 9pm and end usually around 1am. The pier in its entirety is pressure washed 4 times a week. We hope you return and enjoy the scenery as we pride ourselves not only on the fishing aspect but being a great place to view wildlife and the beautiful Emerald Coast in all its glory! Thanks so much for the review!

The pier was within walking distance of our hotel, the Hilton. We paid $2.00 each to walk on it and not fish. There were a lot of people fishing and we saw some catching smaller fish. We saw a dolphin swimming in the area. It's a nice place to take a walk over the water and look at the area.

One of my favorite hobbies is to photograph interesting things in nature. On the top of that list is favorite sunsets and favorite sunrises. Whenever I am in the Destin area, I will get up before the sun rises, to head to this pier, to get an elevated view of the sun coming over the horizon. This trip to Destin Florida was no different. I managed to get up 1 hour before the schedule sunrise zip 20 minutes in the car over to the Okaloosa island fishing pier. To walk on the pier is only $2 plus tax. However, the main reason for the fishing pier, is fishing! To do that the price of admission is about eight dollars plus tax.

As early as I get there, I have yet to be the first person on the pier that day. Expect that there will be people fishing when you get there. Because of the size of the pier it is relatively easy to social distance, but fishermen have a tendency to move around with their poles, so you must be careful not to get pricked by a hook. Do people wear masks out there? Pretty much the answer is no! Even though I personally keep one handy, should the crowd around me get a little bit too dense!

The mood on the fishing pier is pretty much, paying attention to your business and leaving everyone else's alone, unless you're talking about fish!

Here are some of the photographs that I took from that fishing Pier, as well as the nearby beaches, when seeking a sunrise and a sunset.

The Pier is very busy. If you are looking for shade this is not it. Lol. The pier is really long. Made of concrete and wood. At first it was a little scary, then I got used to it. We stayed one day all day long and caught some fish. Mostly remoras which I had to throw back. Lol. The people are really friendly and helpful there. There are cleaning stations as well. They also have snacks and fishing supplies. Rod rentals are $8 per day walk on are $2 a day. I love this Pier.
