Farmer's Market on Saturdays is Must!

Downtown Fort Pierce has locally owned shops, theater, farmers' markets, restaurants, libraries, office spaces, banks, museums and the Indian River. What more is there?

For a beach town I was surprised how dead the city was during the summer. We visited on of the beaches through public access and there was absolutely no one on the beach. If you want to vacate during vacation this would be the place to do it. The beaches are nice and the public park setting is very nice.

I visited the farmer's market and was impressed with the variety of produce, products, and food items. We ate breakfast and lunch at the market for a reasonable price. I was very pleased. Downtown Fort Pierce has a nice variety of bars and restaurants. It's a sleepy tourist town in the summer and we love it for that. We attended... More

Fort Pierce is one of those towns that needs a major make over. Outside the water front, the city is crime ridden. We love the Farmers Market, Sunrise Theatre, The Navy Seal Museum and a very few restaurants but beyond that not a city you want to live in or roam around.

I relocated a few weeks ago and was told about the Saturday Morning Farmer's Market, Downtown Forth Pierce. It is only open 8-12 noon. You need to get there early for Pasteurized Fresh eggs or best choices at the ONLY "True" certified Organic Vendor. One vendor has Fresh squeezed Orange Juice, simply delicious. There is a little bit of everything... More

Had a nice day down town, went to the farmers market. The waterfront was beautiful. Lots of things to do and see.

Even on a holiday weekend, the downtown area was not very busy. Really do not see anything special. Many vacant buildings.

We went to a First Friday of the month event and a Saturday morning Farmers Market--both held near the waterfront. Both were fun. Lots of different vendors and lots of people attending. There is a parking garage (for free!--what city does THAT anymore?) if you can't find parking in the open city lots or along the street, which fill up... More

Walk the quaint streets of historic downtown Ft Pierce and you are stepping back into small town Florida. Still up and coming, the improvements that have been made are in keeping with Ft Pierce's history. Compared to other older downtown districts, I think Ft Pierce has done a great job. Just wish more businesses would take advantage of this area
