Go when the tide is low!

This is a great place to take your dog, but not much room to maneuver when the tide is up. The water is really nice there and the dogs and the owners have a great time.

Lots of friendly dogs and a few not too friendly. The sand bar creates a real fun place for the dogs to romp, swim, and run with other dogs.

We visit Doggy Beach every year. I love animals and the dogs have so much fun out there and it is truly entertaining for the people visiting.

I should be embarrassed to say that we drove almost three days each way to take our golden to a beach. I picked Fort Myers Beach primarily because of the off-leash beach. I really wanted to see my dog in the surf. Even in Kansas we have lakes with great dog-friendly beaches, so just getting wet wasn't the point. This... More

This was a great place to take our dogs for they day. We took 5 dogs and had a blast. After entry we did off leash.

Nothing like watching dogs playing together and enjoying themselves off leash! I brought a long rope and just dragged it behind my little fur baby, eventually let him off and he stayed right with me, got to play with other dogs and play in the water! Nice and clean, lots of people without dogs too!!

Check the tide table and don't go at high tide. At other times the beach is wide and has some big puddles for the dogs who might not want to swim. We went at 11am and there were about 30 dogs of all sizes off leash having a blast. I did not see any poo piles at all. All the... More

We accompanied our god-dog to this open-access beach near Lover's Key. There were many dogs there playing and everyone was being responsible and attentive to their pets and how they were interacting with other dogs. Our Golden Retriever loves water, and it was nice that he had a place to go off-leash.

I only sailed by this on a pontoon boat, but the sand looks spectacular, it is in a lagoon, but with a channel to the sea, so the water is constantly rotating. The people and dogs looked to be having a great time. I'd go there without a dog!

The beach area is set up for dogs and dog lovers! Plenty of space to let them romp in the warm water. Free parking is available and access is easy. You might want to check tides as high tide can make the access a little challenging in that you may have to wade to get to the sandy beach area.
