The beach is very long so you can take some wonderful walks there. The water is clear and shallow. You can see quite big starfishes and other sea creatures. The sand is soft and lovely. In other words - you have to go there BUT be aware it might be crowded during weekends and holidays.

Unbelievably soft and powdery sand. like confectioners sugar. Restaurants along the shore are reasonably priced.

I assume that whoever decided it was ok to dump Lake Okechobee water into the bay area never goes to the beaches that receive that water. Afterwards, I discovered that up near Siesta Key the water is clear. Good info to have, that I didn't have myself.

Very nice, wide beach with shallow depths well offshore and walkable sandbars. Good place to find seashells or take a beach walk. Easy access from many small streets with meters. We were there off season (August), so parking was available. In season you better go early to get a parking spot!

I avoid it when I can. NEVER, NEVER go during spring break. It can take hours to drive 4 miles. Parking is a nightmare.

Shallow calm water with stores and restaurants nearby. Mostly families on the beach. Overall this beach was a nice visit and I would have given it more stars except that the nearby Lovers Key and Sanibel/ Captiva beaches had clearer water and we're just more beautiful and a lot less crowded.

We were staying in Ft. Myers for 3 days. We spent one day on Sanibel Island, having very nice beaches. However, we find Ft. Myers Beach much better, very wide, clean and sand white like snow!

This is our 3rd visit to fmb. Definitely not our last. The water hasn't been the best lately but it's normally great. Looking to buy here. Very crowed. Friendly people

Great beach with ample parking close by, shops and bars all very close. Sea bed slopes gentle so very safe for young children . Soft whit sand in the main.

Came down especially from Orlando to visit this beautiful part of the State, were you'll find well cared for beaches, wildlife and wonderful surroundings, with the option to partake in various activities, most of which are advertised in all hotels and most restaurants. Would recommend the day trip if you're staying in Disney area, it's about 170 miles.
