A week in a vacation home. Great beaches. Free fishing pier. Lots of restaurant choices. The main road through the island is under extreme construction and makes traffic terrible and destroys the beauty of the island. Why would they do this in high season? Big blunder!

It was a great day shelling in Ft Myers Beach. The twins loved the shells and the gulf. I found a sand dollar and my daughter in law found a starfish along with many conch shells.

Had great weather for all but one day (66 for a high that one day). The biggest down fall was the road construction making a trip from the sound end to the north end of the island take an hour. Parking on the north end at $4.00 per hour is a little high if you can even find a place... More

Very wide beach at high and low tide. Lots of shells. Quite a bit of seaweed at shore, but easy to get out past it. You can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, jet skis, and even small hobbie cats right from the beach. Calm ocean the whole time we were there, so great for the water sports. Wore shoes to... Beautiful beach with warm ocean water. This place is heaven on earth! Would recommend staying at a hotel right on the beach so that you can really enjoy it.

The afternoon I spent at Bowditch Beach was a little overcast and cool, so there were not many people there. But the white powder sand is beautiful as is the view. The facilities are modern and attractive with picnic area, bathroom, snack area and pavilion. There's a trolley that takes visitors to many of the areas of the very big... More

We went here for a short time. There is plenty of small parking areas, but they are pay to park. Nice beach, soft white sand. Very nice view. Lots of road work going on, but it will be real nice when they get done. Plenty of souvenir shops and stores.
