    Ft. Myers Beach Stay
We had a wonderful trip to Ft. Myers Beach Florida. My mother and I went down to visit my son who lives in Ft. Myers. We went knowing a rebuild was happening so we were not disappointed. We stayed at an adorable VRBO named Mermaid Tales. It has only six units total, ours was named the Bikini Bottom Unit. It had just reopened in March 2023 and was everything we expected it to be. The property was covered in water to the ceiling from the hurricane, but had been fully remodeled and had everything we needed including a perfectly size pool to hang out in on non beach days. It was great knowing only six units would share the pool, keeping it more quaint. The owner Karen, was staying on property during our visit still finishing up some renovations. She was as nice as could be, showed us all the units and shared how the storm affected the property and even explained about style and artwork used in each unit making them unique. We will definitely return to Ft. Myers and Bikini Bottom would be perfect to stay in again. Bikini Bottom was great also because it was an end unit, so only one shared wall with a neighbor until. Mahalo to Sun Palace for making this trip easy and seamless from reservation to check out, and to Karen for having such a nice affordable rental property at the beach.

    Happy Daze it was!!!
The Happy Daze house was perfect for our low key family vacation. Only a short walk to the beach and there was a wagon to take all our stuff in. The layout of the house worked great for us and having smart tv’s in every room was helpful with the kids. Fort Meyers Beach has a ton of rebuilding to do from Hurricane Ian but we were able to find everything we needed in way of restaurants and stores. I hope we get to come back as we would definitely stay here again.

    Updated Comfortable Easy check-in
Visited Mermaids Tail on Fort Myers Beach in November. This property has bounced back from Hurricane Ian and is completely updated. Keyless entry was convenient and Sun Palace vacations were very prompt with instructions on entry and checkout. Pool is lovely and the hottub a nice bonus in the evenings. Plenty of seating at the pool. Easy walk to the beach. We will definitely stay here again.

    Beautiful beach with shells
We just visited Fort Myers beach today. The beach was beautiful and we went on a nice long walk. One of the bars by the causeway had a toilet behind their trailer. It also had live music. We ate tacos at one of the trailers. We parked by the old Mexican restaurant for $10.00 a day. We then went across the street to a trailer with ice cream. Gooz building was destroyed by the hurricane.

    Nice beach
Tons of shells. I’ve never seen so many nice shells in one place. Lots of small Conches. Clean beach and nice area. Nice area, but still recovering from hurricane. Unfortunately, no dog beach.

    The beach was OK
This was our first trip to FT Myers Beach so we didn’t know what to expect. The pictures of the beach show such beautiful white sand and beautiful water. We went to the County park at the far North end of the island. Parking was easy (but not free). It was a short walk to the OK beach. The beach was OK, the water was OK and we had a very pleasant afternoon. I am not sure fighting the traffic to get on or off the island was worth it. We may go back but it is not a “must visit again” beach

Even after Hurricane Ian, best family beach around SWFL with many options for parking and food.
Even after hurricane Ian, the beach is still one of my favorites, and the re-build process will make this beach one of the top 5 in Florida to go. What makes this beach special is the amount of options for food, parking, and activities to do during your visit. Now there's a Margaritaville resort open, freaking awesome. Before the storm there was street performing, live music, and many bars and restaurants right at times square. hopefully they bring all of that back in the re-build.

White super fine sand is delightful. Water lovely. The challenge during the day is the crowds. We enjoyed our time most about an hour before sunset, when the crowds died down. The entire vibe changed and one can really enjoy the beauty and the calm in a different way during this quieter time of the day.

We decided a visit to the beach was a necessary part of our visit to the Ft. Myers area and it was only 12 miles away so it should be a snap. Wrong! It appeared that everyone had the same idea on a Tuesday early afternoon in February and we spent over an hour in traffic just to get to a car park near the bridge leading to the beaches. (One plus - the car park was free.) We took the trolley over the bridge which was a great idea as I am sure parking was at a premium closer to the beach. Be aware you must catch another trolley to go to other beaches, north or south. And be aware the trolley back across the bridge only runs every half hour. Though we had planned to go on to Bunche Beach, after spending so much time in traffic, we decided to stay put just across the bridge. This area was quite crowded, perhaps because others had the same traffic experience we had. Surely the city of Ft. Myers can find a way to improve on the beach traffic congestion. On the positive side, the beach was flat and clean and the kids (12, 8, & 6) had a great time in the water and sand. We would have returned another day but everyone was traffic-shy and opted for the hotel pool instead.

Fort Myers Beach, known for its sunset, white sands, great outdoor restaurants and a small town old Florida feel.
we live here never get tired of coming to Fort Myers Beach for the sunset and hanging our friends. some trusts are looking for the big city feel in Florida but this place is definitely known for its laid-back small town in Paradise. You know I'm coming to Fort Myers should definitely check out the outdoor restaurants walks at sunset and sunrise along the beach, and renting a jet ski.
It's got great places to go for a long walk and have great sidewalks for bicycles..

We have been coming to Florida for 9 years now and have watched the Beach slowly get worse. We never go on the Beach anymore due to the nasty water that comes out of the Caloosahatchee River. The water is always dark and mixed with Brackish water from lake Okeechobee! It's nasty and a lot more Beaches to choose from than are 2 times cleaner than this one. It's great for Shopping at the base of the Bridge!

Beautiful white sand beaches! We stayed mid island and had the good fortune of watching dolphins, pelicans, and other sea birds fish every morning and evening. The sunsets were gorgeous and our nights were nice and quiet. We rented a car so we drove to restaurants in and around Times Square and on the south end of the island. Parking in Times Square was a little difficult but if you are willing to pay the $12 all day fee in the public lot you can park all day. We came and went from that lot and it worked out great. We had great seafood and enjoyed live music at several establishments. We also walked to some of the restaurants which were about a mile from our Airbnb. I didn’t want to leave and I certainly want to go back!

We enjoy the casual vibe of Fort Myers Beach and always rent two lounge chairs with an umbrella to set up for the day. There are many places to walk to for cold drinks, music and food. The beach is a great place to view beautiful sunsets. Parking can be a challenge, but you can find for $10/day. Alternatively, depending on where you stay, you can ride the beach trolley over for $0.75 from the main park and ride terminal. It runs frequently and is super convenient.

We came here in October and there was no crowd. Kids enjoyed swimming with the little fish and we saw a few crabs. Found prettier shells than at Captiva beach. Beach Patrol went up and down the beach at least 4 times while we were there.

this storm water filtration system and water / sewer pipe work is a mess. traffic is a problem. avoid this town . not a good day to travel to. also limited parking.
last January 2019 I had very bad air quality issues and the traffic. well now January 9.2019 the traffic is all locked up during daytime hours. no bad air quality now.
do not stay on this island because of construction.
I drove by a place I stayed on Lagoon road 2 times in the past , and they are working on the storm water/sewer pipes. the area smelled like a septic tank avoid Lagoon rd !!!
contact the owner on your stay to ask if the construction mess is at his property location. use bicycles to get around ..good luck !

The city has a TICKET QUOTAS. We complained with a manager at the city because they put 2 tickets in less than 30 min and he forced us to pay or to deport us (yes you heard that, deport us outside of the country) !!!

Crazy people. I also talked with an officer who was lazy as hell and did not help.

I suggest anyway to avoid this redneck place which has a lot of very very old people.

Beach is awesome sand. Kids seem to live it and there is some good shelling. Water is greenish and cloudy a lot (not like clear Bahamas water).
Beaches are NOT crowded mist of the year.
Just a quiet town with a lot of condos and currently some bad construction traffic on the Northbound that takes a 10min drive to 1hr+
Good beach to get a tan and read a book. Just relaxing.
