This place is very well maintained. We rode our bikes there and didn't have to pay a cent. The boardwalk trail was great. There were very few people there when we went. We didn't get to see wildlife but that's ok. I enjoyed watching the...More

We have lived in Ft. Myers 24 years and have witnessed numerous changes to our community and to our habitat. A visit to Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve gives one an opportunity to see "old Florida wetlands" terrain in a well-maintained setting. The slough can...More

The Slough is perfect for anyone wishing to get a little closer to wetlands/Everglades terrain without getting feet wet or too close to alligators. The mile plus distance is fine for even non-walkers as there are benches and places to sit under a roof and...More

We like to take walks through the slough. Nice boardwalk and its shaded. Haven't really seen many animals on our strolls but a few birds here and there, couple otters. Perhaps it's the time we go, around 11 am.

I try to visit the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve whenever in Fort Myers. It is the favorite spot of my friends' five year old son. Different visits we see different animals, from alligators to wild pigs to many birds and fish. It is extremely...More
