Palm trees in all their glory

This road is worth a drive along just to see the beautiful royal palms lining most of the way. It is a long road though if you're taking it to get to Sanibel.

Every time I visit Ft. Myers I find myself driving down the full length of McGregor under the Royal Palms with a big smile on my face. The original Royal Palms were given to the city by Edison and have since been added to for a good extra 2 to 3 miles.

McGregor Boulevard is lined with Royal Palms, in almost entirety. The original trees were a gift to Fort Myers from Thomas Edison and were planted along the boulevard near his estate. He so dearly loved these trees and Fort Myers that he expanded his gift in scope. The city and private donors continued the tradition until the ride from Winkler... More

Such a nice drive with the tall palm tree going for miles. Beautiful homes, views of the water behind the homes and Thomas Edison's place.

Driving down McGregor Boulevard is like entering a movie set in old Florida. The Majestic Royal Palms guiding the way past historic sites. And leading you to the City Of Palms, is a must visit.

McGregor Boulevard is really representative of a district / neighborhood in Fort Myers. The northern end of the roadway offers insight into the city's history, all the way back to the 19th century. It's an eclectic area of homes reflecting the preferences of so many transplant residents over the decades. The royal palm lined boulevard is unique, reminding you you're... More

A beautiful tree lined street in Fort Myers! Even though traffic can be very congested at times it just provides greater opportunity to take in this lovely street.
