One of my all-time favorite drives. Can't beat a palm tree lined street. Edison planted many of the palms "way back when" and they've continued to be planted to give this street a palm waving tropical treat. When the fronds are blowing in the breeze and you've got blue, blue sky the traffic doesn't seem all that bad.

Drive down McGregor Blvd and enjoy the queen palms that line the street on both sides. Take time to stop by the Edison-Ford House and take pictures under the giant banyan tree. Visit the museum and learn about Thomas Edison's inventions. Cross the street and you can visits the summer homes of both of these famous gentlemen. The view and... More

This street runs along the Caloosahatchee River lined with miles of Royal Palms on both sides. It goes past the Edison Ford Winter Estates

The wide avenue, royal palms, historical homes and then the Edison Ford Complex. You start to visualize the character and soul of old Ft Myers. A lovely drive early especially off season when less crowned.

Driving down McGregor is a beautiful ride with the palms lining the sides of the road. Being a small road is the only drawback a little fender bender can tie thing up real fast.

A very pretty drive with the palm lined streets! Prettiest road we traveled on when we were in the area this month.

I first drove down McGregor Blvd. around 1969 with my husband and two young sons. Twenty years later I moved to Fort Myers, and by 1990 I lived one block off of this beautiful street.

I love driving down McGregor Boulevard and will go out of my way sometimes to take this route. The palm trees are gorgeous, though, the traffic can't be a bit slow sometimes. McGregor takes you right past the Thomas Edsion and Henry Ford winter homes. How cool is that?!
