We have our boat here and it's a great place to keep our boat. People are friendly and security is great. Just watch out for the people who steal your hoses. We are going on #3.

I can't speak to the dockage situation but I use the boat ramp regularly to launch and recover my 26 ft. sailboat. The ramp is $10 and parking is free. Down that way at the much busier Punta Rassa ramp, the ramp is free and...More

The marina caters to many boaters, including the high end. They also took good care of visitors who only want to rent a kayak. Our tennis team group of 16 reserved in advance and were quickly outfitted with everything we need. More than half the...More

Sent a few pleasant hours kayaking the mangroves. Saw some jumping mackerel, and enjoyed the paddle through the mangroves. They have other boats for rent too. Very friendly staff.

Has anyone ever rented a boat through Port Sanibel Marina? Do they allow you to take their boats up as far as Cayo Costa?

Patty: I'm not trying to be mean or a jerk, but I'd suggest you give the very nice people at the Marina a call and ask them. They are very nice people and they will answer any questions that you have. You may be able to make your arrangements over the phone. FWIW, I'm sure they have boats that you may take to Cayo Costa. Sunset Dolphin cruise (2 Replies)
Hi all, Friday we're heading down to Sanibel for our second visit. Bringing the kids along this time (ages 7 and 13). I was thinking of doing the Sunset Dolphin cruise put on by Adventures in Paradise. It leaves out of the Port Sanibel Marina which appears to be over across the causeway. I like the combination of the sunset and the dolphins in one outing. Has anyone ever been on this cruise? Is it a good one? Thanks, Karen

Actually, you'll see dolphins on most [though not all] cruises. Take the sunset cruise out of Tarpon Bay marina with Tarpon Bay Explorers. You'll be just as likely to see, or not see, dolphins. I have done other cruises with Adventures in Paradise and they are good folks too. You can catch a free shuttle at several trolley stops thru out Sanibel and save yourselves the drive.
Boat rented, now where? (3 Replies)
We are renting a boat at Port Sanibel Marina in 2 weeks (1st week of April). We are 6 adults and 7 kids between 4 - 6 so a Pontoon Boat it is! Any suggestions where we should cruise to? Secluded beaches, cool things to look at, etc. Definitely want to do some swimming. Thank you all in advance.

Jim, I'm anxiously awaiting someone's opinion as we are renting a deck boat from there next week! Please post if you find more info elsewhere. I am assuming we will be exploring the bay and Cayo Costa State Park, but like you, would like some recommendations for places to eat and things to see. Anyone?
