The boat was a large pontoon-type craft captained by Captain Jim and narrated by naturalist Melinda. We saw lots of dolphins and lots of birds of different types - some nesting as we went past. The sunset was stunning and Melinda took pictures of groups as the sun sunk in the Gulf. It lasted just over 90 minutes.

Evan and Jim are wonderful hosts! They are both knowledgeable and engaging. My two teenage girls had a great time searching for shells and swimming on the beach and it was simply a mini trip to paradise!

I made reservations based upon reviews on TripAdvisor reviews and definitely not disappointed! Captain Jim and First Mate Evan were absolutely wonderful. Good narration on the way to the island for shelling and Evan provided more information on the different shells we were gathering. Lunch was wonderful at Barnacles! Highly recommend this company and its employees.

It was what you would expect for the price....a nice relaxing boat ride on a lovely sunny day. We did see a few dolphins and then enjoyed a nice lunch at the restaurant nearby.

Took the sunset and dolphin cruise. Saw a few dolphins but not for very long. Can't fault them on that. Apparently the dolphins didn't get the memo. The Captain and guide were very informative and we all learned a lot about the ecosystem in and around Fort Myers. Various species of birds too many to list here. The best part... More

We had two great guides that were full of information. We started on the island with collecting shells and then went for lunch. The lunch was very good at Barnacles. On the way back we ran into several pods of dolphins and got to hear all about them. It was a good day.

So much more than its name! One side of the island you go to is beautiful blue ocean great for swimming, shelling and relaxing. The other side of the island is a bay area. There were several manatee on the bay side the day we went. They came within feet of us when we were waist deep in the water!... More

My husband and I have been coming to Sanibel for over 40 years and have taken many of the cruises offered in the area. The Shelling and Lunch Cruise offered by Adventures in Paradise is one of the best. Our Captain Tim and first mate Evan were excellent. A wonderful way to spend the day!

During our winter getaway to Florida I frequently take a cruise with Adventures in Paradise. This trip I surprised my husband with the Valentine dolphin/sunset cruise. I also took a good friend on the shelling cruise. Both cruises were captained by Jim and today first mate Evan. I have never had a bad experience with this company and keep going... More

The guide was great. Took me to cool places and I learned a lot in the trip about our relationship with the gulf.
