About
Miss Potter's Place is fun, educational and beautiful! There are over 100 edible fruit, nut & spice trees, vegetables & herbs, edible flowers and a butterfly garden. Supporting the many plants are bunnies, free range chickens (that let you cuddle & pet them!), bee hives and an earthworm commune. It is an example of how productive and beautiful a subtropical backyard garden can be! The garden and nursery are open by appointment, please call or text to set up a time to visit!

An excellent place to see how such small acreage can grow so many varieties of fruits and vegetables. Miss Potter is also is a wealth of information. She is a Master Gardener who can teach you how to grow everything in your kitchen cupboard. She also sells plants and trees and other garden supplies...and with very good prices.
Also a fun place for kids.

We booked a tour with Ms. Diaz due to an interest in gardening in SW Florida with all my previous experience in Colorado. She was punctual and ready to go at our scheduled time. Her knowledge is extensive and gained mostly from hands-on trial and error.

The tour took at least one hour and focused on the tropical plants that are either edible, attract pollinators (bees and butterflies). We were very impressed with her knowledge and she is a joy to be around and communicate with.

We highly recommend the tour to others new to Florida and the tropical nature of the plants that do well here. We have not tried the honey that is available for purchase but it looks yummy. The chickens are fun.

The tour was fun, educational and inspiring. I've been gardening for decades and still I learn. I left with new information, some plants that are difficult to find and a renewed goal of adding yet more edibles to the landscape. One hour to tour, though I could have asked questions for a lot longer, the owner is a wealth of information.

I am sorry Tammy. But due to a very difficult year last year (the loss of my son and severe damage by Hurricune Irma) I decided to stop offering open tours of my yard and I am no longer a business. I am still gardening and you can follow my adventures on MissPottersPlace on Facebook. And I do offer personal tours by appointment, when I am available. But due to many weekend speaking engagements and several volunteer commitments to local school and community gardens, I am limited in availability. I have tried several times to have this listing of my yard removed from Trip Advisor, but don't seem to be successful. I am sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you.

I've watched Miss Potter's Place 'grow' from a pretty common Florida residential backyard (some grass, lots of exotics, weeds, etc...) into the amazing backyard farm, groves and gardens you enjoy when you visit. Adrienne is definitely a visionary (so she'll help you SEE your future edible landscape) but she's also a do-er...and what she does with her 'space' is such an inspiration to grow in my own space in ways I never imagined possible. "I can do it!" is how I feel each time I hang out with Miss Potter! Bring your 'to grow' shopping list when you go - her nursery carries lots of great options at very reasonable prices and her gift shop is just the place to pick up unique garden gifts. Watch for her classes locally also - she's an awesome educator/entertainer as she presents on her many topics with expertise, endless enthusiasm and lots of just plain fun stuff.

Miss Potter's Place is amazing! There is so much to see in this backyard edible garden. I've had the privilege of watching this property go from an over grown back yard to what it is today. Only true passion and extensive knowledge could make that possible - and that is exactly what you find in Adrienne. She takes the guess work out of backyard gardening and makes it possible for even brown thumbs like me! Be sure to tour this property when in Fort Myers! You'll be motivated and inspired!

If you are into learning about fresh organically grown fruit trees and love chickens and rabbits, you and your family will love Miss Potter's place. A beautifully kept garden feels like a hidden gem. Our guide and garden owner, Adrienne Diaz taught the whole family how to transform a common back yard into a fruit producing paradise. Do yourself a favor and go see Adrienne and thank me later.

Had a fantastic time with the most knowledgeable Master Gardner in our area. Miss Potter was able to keep 20+ 3rd graders entertained with her fantastic property, plantings and critters. A must see. Thank you Miss. Potter!
