Refugees from upstate NY. Walking on a sandy beach with weather in the high 60's. What's not to like? There are life guards in stations every 200 yards or so. Nothing to fear. Parking can be found in areas of the A1A on the east side of the road. During the week, there are no crowds. Plenty of little shops... More

Great place to view barges, cruise ships, sail boats or pleasure craft. No shortage of beach activities to either participant in or as an observer. Lots of places to eat and drink and retail shops also available.

Great place to walk on the beach and 'people watch'. Ideal for a warm sunny day - be sure to wear sun screen.

We live near the beach and whenever we get a chance we take our toddler in the stroller and walk down the beach. The City has just completed renovations and repairs with new pavers. lighting and parking. There are a number of restaurants to eat at or bars to have a cocktail along the way. We love the Atlantic Hotel... More

Who doesn't remember, or at least reading about, the days of spring break at Ft. Lauderdale Beach? Wet T-shirt contests, massive consumption of alcohol and dudes cruising the strip along the beachfront. Even on winter days, the scene has elements of spring break, but without the crowds. A pretty eclectic sort of place. Not to be missed.

The temperature was in the 60s, with moderate to strong wind! White caps on the waves! A few were surfing in wet suits. Too cold for ice cream vendors to be out. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships come in and go out, along with the cargo ships. Some cargo ships were anchored during the night awaiting their turn to... More

It is not sugar sand, but it's a good, clean and safe beach with a bautiful view. Easy parking , a lot of bars and restaurants nearby
