The Fort Lauderdale Women’s Club was founded on January 11, 1911, with the historic clubhouse designed in Mission style by August Geiger, a short walk past modern developments from the other historic buildings from the same era in Fort Lauderdale. We were there for a wedding, for which it was a beautiful venue, and were also given a quick explanation on Women's Club, its history, importance and activities today. There is a beautifully-landscaped garden at the side, in which the ceremony took place, leading to the porch and Clubhouse itself with its old brick fireplace giving warmth and charm to the room. If you do have a chance to visit and hear about the Club's history, I would recommend it. Plus - an added bonus -, it has a small parking area outside!
