We needed something to do when the beach was shut down due to construction. This was walkable from our hotel and a nice hike through the park. Bike rental was too expensive (15$ for a short ride) so we walked.

A little strange to see a nature park set between the ocean & all these high-rises in this area. This is as small park where you can experience nature & what FL used to look like before real estate speculation & runaway development took place...More

This park is a blast from the pre western civilization period of Ft Lauderdale. It has been restored to the type of flora that existed in south Florida when only native americans lived here. Many trails and picnic tables and fields to play on. Very...More

Spent the morning here running/walking the paths and trails. Just a beautiful oasis right in the middle of town. We are going back for at least one more visit while in Ft Lauderdale this week. We loved it!

This park is a few minutes walk from Gallery One hotel and it is close to the beach, which is a wonderful setting. Well worth an hour or so and they have regular talks about local wildlife.

We have been coming to this park for many years. It is very close to the hotels and condos that we stay at in Ft. Lauderdale and easy to get to. The park has nice bike and hiking trails, and a small area of picnic...More

This small park is a hidden secret for most out of town travelers. It's between Fort Lauderdale beach and the Intracoastal Waterway. Lots of natural walking paths. Picnic tables, BBQ's restrooms, etc. They have bicycle, Segway, canoe rentals. Fort Lauderdale is the boating capital of...More

I'd read about this park on tripadvisor, and planned an early morning walk here. The reserve is large (180 acres with about 20 blocks frontage along the beachside) and includes a mangrove habitat and nursery (a big plus in my book for this wonderful species),...More

A cloudy day encouraged us to find a new spot to explore. We had no idea what we were going to experience. The map was so general it forced us to strike out on our own. Since parking is plentiful we abandoned our vehicle and...More

Sorry, but we got really confused by the map. I'm sure it's really nice if you can find your way around. I would rent bikes next time, but then you couldn't do the trails. The lady that took our money was so nice and friendly....More

Yes, there are bike rentals at BG Coco Cafe. I can't post links here, but just search for their website, and they have pricing on there. You can also get a BCycle (Broward county bike sharing program) from across the street.
