My kids (ages 5, 9, 11) loved the pirate adventure. The female sailor in charge of keeping the kids entertained during the ride did a FANTASTIC job. She was high energy and kept the kids excited and occupied during the entire trip. There was a pirate map, a missing key and a bad guy . . . finally treasure at the end of the trip. The kids were encouraged to move about the ship during the ride - look over the railing, play pirate limbo, participate in a dance party . . . The parents could sit back and enjoy the views of the yachts and mansions that lined the Intracoastal Waterway. Definitely worth the price paid. Kids and any parents in the main part of the ship WILL get wet during the water cannon battle. My 5 year old was soaked to the skin. But it was a nice warm day so not a problem.
Side note: If you visit on a weekend, be sure to allow lots of extra time for travel. Traffic in the area is very congested. You have to cross a drawbridge to reach this location, and if the drawbridge is up, it will cost you an extra 20 to 30 minutes in travel time. Parking is $7 in the Bahia Mar Marina when you show a validated ticket obtained from BlueFoot Pirate Adventures.
