Mark at Planet Massage has changed my life.
I have been in the area for about 12 years, chronic upper/lower back and neck pain. I was skeptical because I always went to the chain places like Massage Envy, severely disappointed. I thought massage wasn’t worth it. I couldn’t have been more wrong…
The second I stepped in Planet Massage I felt welcomed and warm. Told them my ailments and they prescribed a catered massage just for me. They didn’t work on the areas that I thought were the problem. They worked on the areas they KNEW were the problem…and I walked out of there like a new woman.
I go back as much as I can and it’s the best part of my month. Do yourself a favor and don’t guess on where is best. They are local legends!

Thanks so much for the kind words! We couldn't agree more. Our staff truly are world class, and they care. It's so exciting when people notice that there IS a huge difference in the quality and talent of massage and bodyworkers. I feel like a proud papa! Looking forward to seeing you again soon! Mark

Fist Timers to Planet Massage. We, 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 17 & 13), decided to treat ourselves to a message while on vacation. All of us said it was the best massage we ever had. For myself, I have a herniated disk L5S1 and spondylitis. After the massage, I had no lower back pain. It was awesome. I would definitely recommend massages by Planet Massage. Thank You, Thank You. We will be back when we are back in town.

My wife and I visited Fort Lauderdale for the Orange Bowl. While in town, we had a massage at Planet Massage. It was a great experience. Our couples massage was just what we wanted. The massage therapists were wonderful! I highly recommend.

My therapist, Gabby, relieved me of a lot of pain. And as we talked, I realized that she was an extraordinary person in her own right. You should know that she is a treasure!

Although we did not end up having outdoor massage as seen in the photographs, my husband and I; while on a kidless-long weekend, enjoyed a couples massage. There's a great way to end the day.
Staff did a wonderful job and the facility was clean.

I advised them when booking I had a pinched nerve and needed special treatment on it, which they advised was something they can do. When I arrived they thought I just wanted a full body massage and weren't aware of any pinched nerve. But to give credit to the lovely masseuse she did give me a deep tissue massage but not in the way to resolve the pinched nerve. They also overcharged me $45 on my credit card which took a week to get back. If you are looking for a de-stress massage it's great but if you're looking for a professional sports massage look elsewhere.

Dear Captain,
I was really disheartened to read your slanderous review after we tried so hard to help. I've reached out to you privately a number of times to address your concerns, but my communication has not been responded to. I don't like airing dirty laundry in a public forum, but you have left me no option to let our fans hear our side of this story.
As the owner and lead therapist, I spent over 1/2 hour counseling you at no charge. I recommended a therapist who has trained in advanced techniques and in my heart someone that I felt had the best chance of success. I discussed a treatment plan based on your history, symptoms and my experience with treating similar pains. I also explained that it is not always possible to treat old chronic injuries, fix decades of problems and pain caused by work and lifestyle issues in one hour or in one treatment. In greater detail, I also stressed the point as I do to all of our clients that the area that hurts or is aggravated may be far away from the actual CAUSE of the hurt. A good therapist will often treat problems you don't know you have in ways you likely can not understand, unless you are a massage therapist or alternative medical professional. The spectacular results we typically get are a result of our extensive specialized training, experience and also the magic in what we do. Rubbing on a self diagnosed pinched nerve will rarely make it better.
Moving forward, I juggled the therapists schedule and booked an appointment that very same day. When you had a problem with your credit card, I even waived the deposit, which we rarely do for first time clients, but I bought into your story and wanted to help. You didn't show up for your appointment.
The following day, when you called to reschedule, we gave you the benefit of the doubt and re-booked you without penalty for your no show. You were not overcharged, you booked a longer appointment at a cost of $45 and you agreed to the charges when you booked and authorized the charge. Minutes after booking, you then called back and asked to be downgraded to an hour, and asked for a refund even after I explained that one hour probably wouldn't be sufficient to resolve your issue. None the less, we immediately refunded the money to your card. If your bank takes a week to process a refund, as many do, it's no fault of ours.
You did sir, get exactly what you requested with the therapist spending all of the time devoted to your primary complaint. I'm not exactly sure what you hoped to gain by writing this review, but I hope you will take a moment to dig deeper inside for the truth before you write your next.
Regards
Mark

We found Planet Massage on Spafinder.com - I called around noon on a Sunday to book couples massages for my husband and I as well as another couple but preferred an evening appt. They arranged to have four masseuses in that same night at 6:30. Very impressed with their ability to satisfy our requests!
Location was convenient, massage rooms were clean and tastefully decorated and the massage was fantastic!
Highly recommend!

Yes...according to their website:
Therapeutic massage has been used for centuries to improve overall health, reduce stress, and relieve muscle tension. Modern investigation and research is proving that prenatal massage therapy can be a very instrumental ingredient in women’s prenatal care and should be given careful consideration. The licensed massage therapists at Planet Massage have trained to provide the very best in prenatal and post partum massage therapy utilizing time honored and cutting edge techniques and the finest equipment for your safety and comfort. Celebrating our 10th year as Fort Lauderdale’s #1 spa as ranked by Tripadvisor. Members of the American Pregnancy Association.
The benefits of prenatal massage or massage during pregnancy:
Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health.
The therapists at Planet Massage address different needs through varying techniques. Swedish massage which aims to relax muscle tension and improve lymphatic and blood circulation through mild pressure applied to the muscle groups of the body. Swedish massage is one of the recommended prenatal massage methods during pregnancy as it addresses many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts during pregnancy. Mild stretching and light Swedish massage strokes are used to soothe your sore body. You will appreciate the reduced aching in stress bearing joints such as the ankles, knees, hips and the lower back. Our goal is to leave you feeling relaxed, restored, and rejuvenated!preggo massage
Sometimes a stronger touch is required with deep tissue Massage, Connective Tissue Massage or other bodywork. With some adjustments & considerations, these all can all be accomplished safely. Additionally, Active Isolated Stretching or A.I.S. has proven to be extremely effective as well in increasing flexibility, mobility and decreasing pain. Not to mention keeping the hips open and flexible, which have obvious benefits.
Your therapist will discuss the treatment options and help formulate a treatment plan while adjusting to your changing body and needs.
Hormone regulation
Studies done in the past 10 years have shown that hormone levels associated with relaxation and stress are significantly altered, leading to mood regulation and improved cardiovascular health, when massage therapy was introduced to women’s prenatal care. Hormones such as norepinephrine and cortisol (“stress hormones”) were reduced and dopamine and serotonin levels (low levels of these hormones are associated with depression) were increased in women who received bi-weekly massages for only five weeks. These changes in hormone levels also led to fewer complications during birth and fewer instances of newborn complications, such as low birth weight. The evidence points strongly to maternal and newborn health benefits when relaxing, therapeutic massage is incorporated into regular prenatal care. Active Isolated Stretching or A.I.S. has proven to be very effective at preparing the muscles and tissues for the stresses of childbirth, especially when started early on, pre pregnancy.
Active Isolated Stretching
Reduction of swelling
Edema, or swelling of the joints during pregnancy, is often caused by reduced circulation and increased pressure on the major blood vessels by the heavy uterus. Massage helps to stimulate soft tissues to reduce collection of fluids in swollen joints, which also improves the removal of tissue waste, carried by the body’s lymph system.
Improvement of nerve pain
Sciatic nerve pain is experienced by many women in late pregnancy as the uterus rests on muscles of the pelvic floor and lower back. The pressure of the uterus spreads tension to the muscles of the upper and lower leg, causing them to swell and put pressure on nearby nerves. Massage therapy addresses the inflamed nerves by helping to release the tension on nearby muscles. Many women have experienced significant reduction in sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy through regular massage.
Other potential benefits of prenatal massage:
Reduced back pain
Reduced joint pain
Improved circulation
Reduced edema
Reduced muscle tension and headaches
Reduced stress and anxiety
Improved oxygenation of soft tissues and muscles
Better sleep
What precautions should be taken when seeking prenatal massage?
As with any therapeutic approach to pregnancy wellness, women should discuss massage with their prenatal care provider. The best way to address the risks of prenatal massage is to be informed and to work together with knowledgeable professionals.
Body position during prenatal massage
Planet Massage incorporates the use of pregnancy massage “body cushions” and hydraulic adjustable massage tables, as well as an assortment of other cushions and bolsters to ensure comfort and safety. Often, the best position for a pregnant woman during massage is side-lying., but there are options. Your therapist will discuss all of the options to ensure your comfort at any stage in your pregnancy. We often hear that being on our tables in the only way a woman can get comfortable!
Is prenatal massage safe throughout the entire pregnancy?
The latest information suggests that women can begin massage therapy at any point in their pregnancy – during the first, second, or third trimester. However, at Planet Massage, we feel that the first trimester has often been considered somewhat risky and therefore not generally recommended. With safety being our top priority, we do not offer massage during the first trimester unless specifically requested by a physician. We suggest beginning massage therapy and AIS stretching PRIOR to pregnancy, if at all possible. The benefits are amazing.
Women with the following conditions should speak with a health care provider prior to receiving a massage:
High risk pregnancy
Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH)
Preeclampsia
Previous pre-term labor
Experiencing severe swelling, high blood pressure, or sudden, severe headaches
Recent birth
Incorporating Massage Therapy Into Your Prenatal Care
The benefits of massage and AIS stretching can improve overall prenatal health for many pregnant women. Along with the guidance and advice of a prenatal care provider, massage therapy can be incorporated into routine prenatal care as an emotional and physical health supplement proven to improve pregnancy outcome, and maternal health. Consult your midwife or obstetrician before beginning any new therapeutic practice.
Postpartum Massage
During the postpartum period you may experience soreness, fatigue, and aches associated with overused birthing muscles. Typically, we use light Swedish massage strokes to encourage blood circulation, lymphatic fluid flow, and ease tired muscles. Postpartum massage and AIS stretching is wonderful for helping return the body to it’s pre-pregnancy state and can help speed recovery by promoting relaxation, providing pain relief, and has even been recognized to help improve post-surgical recovery after Cesarean births. Postpartum massage will also help alleviate the “postpartum blues”. We promise you’ll leave feeling wonderful!
Trying to Conceive? Contact Planet Massage for more information on the benefits of Active Isolated Stretching (A.I.S.). With over 40 stretches for each hip, AIS has proven to be a very effective tool in helping those who are TTC.

Cost for couple massage ? How much to tip ? Thanks :)
Written December 17, 2015
Prices are on their website. I have always used this rule of thumb for tipping: 20% of cost of service, but best at your discretion....

I was wondering if you advised the therapist of your neck issue or just when you booked? And was your service booked with a Groupon or Living Social special??
Thanks
Written March 18, 2015
I used a Groupon coupon , and advised the therapist of my neck issue when I arrived. Thought there is ample opportunity to expound on personal issues when you fill out the application form.
