NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale is a dynamic cultural hub located between Miami and Palm Beach on vibrant Las Olas Boulevard in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale's arts district. The museum's distinctive modernist building, which opened in 1986, was designed by the renowned architect Edward Larrabee Barnes.

NSU Museum of Art's permanent collections contain more than 6,000 works, including celebrated holdings by the post-war, avant-garde European Cobra artists, the nation's largest collection of works by American painter William Glackens, and a significant collection of works by leading Latin American artists.

The museum's 83,000 square-foot building contains 25,000 square feet of exhibition space, the 250-seat Horvitz Auditorium, a bookstore and cafe. Its 11,000 square-foot AutoNation Academy of Art + Design is located adjacent to the museum and includes state-of-the-art studios and classrooms.

Great location! unfortunately at the time we visited there was construction in the building and we still had to pay the full price for half the exhibition

We went on a rainy day and did not regret. We enjoyed the entire exhibition but most of all the William Glackens collection. It's a pity you are not allowed to take pictures, even without flash.

Fort Lauderdale hosts a wonderful Museum of Art that has a lovely permanent collection as well as world class traveling exhibitions. It doesn't overwhelm one and it's possible to see everything and really absorb it in a day or less. Most traveling exhibits have accompanying audio to make it more enjoyable. There is a lovely café and book and gift... More

The NSU Art Museum, also known as The Museum of Art/Fort Lauderdale, is good medium size museum, featuring late 19th and 20th century American and European art. It is the home for the William Glackens Collection (American Impressionist) as well as CoBrA Collection ( Northern European art, of the Post War). The exhibitions a consistently worthwhile.

Sebastian was the best. We all enjoyed his interesting explanations about the artists and the hands on art exercise was loads of fun for all. This is a 5 star art museum with excellent leadership.

We ended up there on a trip around Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, in September when it rains at lunchtime. It was ok, I particularly liked the African exhibition - lots of artifacts and interesting labels talking about how they are used in the daily life of the tribes. They have a little coffee shop and a souvenir shop Plan... More

Went there yesterday Sep-1-2016 using our Bank of America free museum entry. I love this museum, every time we go there is something new to see - with a wide variety of very different art exhibits... You don't want to miss their current and temporary exhibitions - portrait photos super-sized with amazing detail, (I forgot the name of the Artist),... More

Recently went to an opening. The gift shop has some great things. The opening was an interesting mix of art.
