We visited Miami over the Xmas break, two families with kids plus grandparents. Were looking forward to the Everglades Holiday Park airboat tour and enjoyed it, but it was not as great as we expected.
It was a busy day so we stood in line for about half an hour to get tickets. The place is well organized with parking, restrooms, benches etc. The price was relatively high but included a family picture just before the tour, which is a nice souvenir.
The tour itself was about an hour. Most of the time it was loud, we had to use earplugs. We could not hear the tour guide's explanations well, and anyway did not have direct contact to ask him questions. There was also no time for questions at the end, we had to leave quickly so the next group could board the boat.
That sent us to Google, where we learned that the big canals were actualy dug in order to drain water away, not to bring water to agricultural fields as the tour guide said.
The airboats make a loud noise and strong wind, and it was not nice to see them going close to beautiful birds nests, that was very disturbing for the birds.
We only saw a couple of aligators and they were small. Exciting enough for the kids but not amazing.
The gator show was also not so exciting, as the guy mostly stood there and talked. The kids lost interest and wanted to leave before the show ended.
Overall- good experience, good people, well organized place. But not amazing and not great value for the high price.
