Scammed

The management are con artists; they denied the refund of 4 tickets for the ballet Don Quixote in April, performance canceled by them. They want me to donate the value of the tickets. Is this a joke?

Broadway in Florida
Mar 2020
Six of us went to see Mean Girls at the Broward Center for the performing arts and had a wonderful time.

The theater is well constructed  and well manned.  We had no difficulty getting checked in and to our seats in spite of a sold out crowd. Seating was good with ample room. Because of the crowds getting in and out we parked a mile away and took Uber to and from. It worked well and saved us money.

The play was a little hard to understand and I noted other people have talked about bad acoustics and that was compounded by a fast talking cast.

A Step Behind in Protecting Citizens
Mar 2020
As Covid -19 creates a Pandemic, the Center is more interested in protecting its short term profits rather than create a policy of allowing its patrons from opting out of attending performance without forfeiting the ticket price.
Its website has a boiler plate page about the virus. That's it. The center apparently does not understand that many people especially the elderly may wish to avoid a mass gathering like a packed hall.
The management would do well to follow the examples of the neighboring cruise industry which, at a great cost to itself, is allowing customers to opt out of cruising.
A center to promote Arts and Culture should not be an unwitting participant in spreading of the virus .

ENTERTAINMENT AT ITS BEST.
Feb 2020
The variety of entertainment venues is amazing and they do a great job of mixing it up. Something for everyone.

Great Evening
Feb 2020
This is an impressive theatre and well worth a visit. On this occasion we had the opportunity to hear an informative talk about the play prior to the performance.

Yacht Bands from the 70's
Feb 2020
What a wonderful concert with Ambrosia, John Ford Coley, Peter from Player, and the last performer slips my mind, but it was an awesome concert. Hearing the songs that I've listened to for many years, and being in such an awesome Performing Arts building. The Performing Arts Center was a fabulous place and the music sounded great! It was a pleasure to be able to see these bands perform in person. I wouldn't have missed it for anything! What a great night!

Beautiful venue but accoustics are an issue
Feb 2020
Wonderful new design of the "classic" Opera House. Excellent seating, sight lines and stage. Adjacent parking lot is conveient but pricey for area ($15 per performance). Operas are not amplified and only very strong voices are clearly heard. Frequently the orchestra is drowning out the singers. Fix would be easy.

Gettimg Art Framed
Jan 2020
There is a wonderful store that does framing as well as sells art by the name of Naked Walls. It is run by Barry Cohen, whose expertise in framing and helpfulness goes unsurpassed. The store itself is like an art gallery, thus it's name 'Naked Wall'. I brought in 5 museum prints from NYC and had them all framed here. I highly recommend. They are located in the Publix shopping center at 7431-57 West Atlantic Avenue.

Great venue
Jan 2020
Great theater where we have season ticket for the Broadway series.

Our seats are 8th row right orchestra so we can see and hear everything.

The only down side is the bathrooms are too small for such a large venue.
