    Beyond perfection!
Just incredible! This was a bucket list item and a birthday gift from a friend. It couldn't have been more perfect! The horses were beautiful, so well cared for, and clearly loved. Nikki, our guide, was a true professional and such a gentle spirit. Pure goodness. I can't wait to come back!

    Best Time Ever!
This was for our Marketing Department Christmas outing. We took the morning walk. This family run business is amazing. The two sisters were so warm and inviting. They made you feel like part of the family. Nikki our guide gave great instructions before we rode our horses. I highly recommend Happy Trails if you want to go horseback riding. We got to ride on trails and then the beach. We had the best time!!!!! I will be back!

    Wonderful Horses and Tour Guides!
I admit I was a little scared on a big horse that could just gallop off anywhere on the beach, but it was a great experience! The tour guides were wonderful and told us exactly what to expect (we had to go through mud and up and down dunes) and then even told us what to expect on the beach (that the horses would want to go home, but don't let them). It was a great experience, well worth the money.

    Special day at Happy Trails!
My family and I had a wonderful time riding at Happy Trails. Lee and Nikki, were terrific hosts and provided us with horses we were able to bond with within minutes. Guests are encouraged to hug, pet and speak with the horse to be ridden in order to both allow it to become familiar with their rider and to help ease any anxious feelings you may have about horseback riding. The ride itself was splendid. We rode through a beautiful trail to the beach and spent the better part of our journey overlooking the ocean and sandy shores. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend Happy Trails to anyone, regardless of age, if you’re looking for a very unique time while visiting the Amelia Island area. Thank you again Nikki and Lee for a major highlight of our vacation!!

    Great ride!!
The ride was incredible! I was lucky to ride “Joy” on to the beach. The ride was exactly as her name, a true joy. She went exactly where I told her to go. I never rode. Tennessee Walking Horse before but I surely will ask for one from now on! A truly great experience! Guide was great in explaining everything, I an not express enough, listen to her instructions! I have ridden before, but if you haven’t, her explanation is clear and will help you have the best experience! The beach was beautiful, took pics and videos. the guide will take ones of you on the horse if you ask. Don’t miss this wonderful experience!!!!

    Wonderful experience
Highlight of our trip to the area. Lee was very informative giving us the history of the property. This is a family business. Debbie was our trail guide. She was wonderful and very encouraging. Riding through the property and trees was great and then right out to the beach. They were great about taking pictures for us. Highly recommend them!

    Don’t miss this experience!
I had a fabulous experience riding at Happy Trails! I adored my lovely horse, Lady, and loved riding through a state park trail to the beach. I’ve done other beach rides before, and the added trail experience was unique and fun. Debbie and Lee were fantastic. I’ve ridden at several stables in the U.S. and the U.K., and Happy Trails is definitely the most concerned with safety. I’ll be back next time I’m on the island!

    Family bonding experience
Wow! This was a ride to remember! My daughter has always wanted to ride horses on the beach, and Happy Trails made her dream come true! Our family (except my daughter) has little to no riding experience. The staff helped to ease our trepidation and made sure that we all felt as comfortable as possible. This was an important moment of growth for our family, and I am so happy that we did this together!

The "Must-Do" Activity on Amelia Island!
This was the best part of my trip to Amelia Island! Deby was a wonderful guide and helped me feel more confident on the horse, Romeo. She guided our group on horseback through some muddy trails, up and down a small hill, and onto the beach. You really get to experience several different environments with the horse, which made me feel like a better rider. I highly recommend doing a trail ride to anyone visiting Amelia Island. This is my second year in a row doing it, and I can't say enough great things about how much joy this brings!

    Amazing Sunset Horse Ride
We had an amazing sunset ride with our guide Deby and horses Romeo and Jody! Happy Trails is unique because they share part of Ameila Island State park. So, you get to take a beautiful trail ride through an ancient oak hammock to get to the beach. Deby our guide gave instructions all the way, and once on the beach she took everyone’s photos and gave us some freedom to ride. This was the perfect anniversary date for us!! Thanks Happy Trails for a wonderful memory.

The trail ride on the beach was a magical experience for me and my 10-year-old grandson. Our guide, Perry, was excellent. She gave us clear, careful instructions, and was constantly observing the riders to make sure everything went smoothly. Fernandina Beach is perfectly beautiful and relatively uncrowded. Neither my grandson nor I are experienced riders, but we felt very safe and comfortable. I highly recommend this experience, and look forward to doing it again.

Owner provided a good safety and riding instruction briefing.

Horses were healthy and well behaved/trained. As with any horse riding experience there is a potential to have an issue with the horse or more likely a bad or anxious rider.

This provider and these horses were very good on this day and should provide you a very nice beach riding experience.

On our 2nd visit to Amelia Island, I booked a sunset ride on the beach with Happy Trails Walking Horses as a Valentines Day gift for my sweetie. She loved it! Our guide, Zu Zu, went out of her way to make sure we had a good time. And the horses, Tennessee Walkers, were a joy to ride. They were very gentle and have a gait that was easy to handle, even for an inexperienced rider like me.

The Omni Hotel Amelia Island recommended Happy Trails Walking Horses. Upon arrival Kate was sweeping up after an evening storm. The place was clean and fresh.
I was introduced to my horse Coco by Nikki, their handler and "mom" . She takes great interest in their care and happiness. Nikki pairs each rider based on her observance of the rider personality and temperament(energy). Coco was a good fit for me. She was an experienced trail leader and would try to be the boss. Nikki felt that I would not be shied by Coco's personality.

Coco was beautiful, calm and well behaved. She responded to the lightest movement of her reins and moved forward with the slightest squeeze of my calves.

The trails through the forest was beautiful and so serene. The beach was a treat. Nikki allowed the riders to play around in the surf and walk around on the beach-non trail.

This was the best horseback riding adventure I have ever had. Thank you Kate and Nikki for have such a loving stable.

Horseback riding was high on the list of things my lady friend wanted to do. She had been uncomfortable and hesitant around horses all of her life. It was her decision to tackle her riding fears now and my decision as to who would take her for her first ride.

Deby and her friend at Happy Trails Walking Horses were professional, competent and personable, traits which made my lady friend comfortable and ready for the long delayed bucket list experience. They patiently explained everything involved, worked directly with her to ease her concerns and made her feel relaxed enough to ride Montana on the beach. And I hadn't been on a horse for 35 years. To us the Happy Trails people are equestrian miracle workers.

We know we'll be back in the near future for both beach and trail riding. We'll probably request Montana and Romeo (my horse) when we do.

Stan, the owner was very knowledgeable about his horses and how to teach a quick lesson on riding these beautiful Tennessee walkers . My husband , our 16 year old and I have never been on this type of ride . We’ve always done nose to tail trail rides .

At first , I was scared because of the gait of my horse . Stan, quickly calmed my nerves so that I could get a sense of how to handle my horse . I got used to the pace and my horse got used to the speed that I was comfortable with in the ride .

The ride is on the beautiful wide beach at Amelia island . It is quite spectacular to have an opportunity like this to ride freely on a beach. No crowds - just you and the horse enjoying nature’s gifts.

Beautiful horses and Stan was a great guide who spent time teaching how to handle the horses on your ride. I've gone riding before and it was the first time I received an intro lesson. Beach is beautiful, I recommend going in the morning. My only complaint is that Stan didn't take any photos of our ride which was disappointing.

This was awesome. Stan, our guide was the best. The group was not too big and three out of the four were beginners. Stan took the time to walk through basic commands. These Tennessee Walkers were absolutely beautiful and gentle. This was a great experience and I highly recommend Happy Trails.
Thank you again,
Rhonda
