Shout out to Capitan Mike at Jungle Erv’s!

We booked the ~$118/person “Combo” attraction tour which included 4 separate activities:

1) Jungle Erv’s Airboat (30mins): Best of the two separate airboat tours. The smaller boats and narrower mangrove's were better than Wooten’s airboat tour. Felt like we were drifting on the water the whole time! Had headsets with microphones, which captain Mike educated us! The only alligator sightings were in the canal next to the building. Bring sunscreen. No mosquitoes while on airboat moving.

2) Wooten’s Airboat (30mins): Larger boats and more open water. Less weaving/drifting. This one seemed more kid friendly. Two alligator sightings while out on open water.

3) Wooten’s Raised Vehicle Swamp Ride (20mins): the guide was very knowledgeable and funny, but MOSQUITOS galore!!!! Beware!!!! If we knew, we wouldn’t have paid for the whole combo deal.

4) Alligator Show: we didn’t attend this due to the number of mosquito bites from #3 above. But if you buy the combo deal, we’d probably recommend doing this.

Highly recommend Jungle Erv’s only.

Family, including 5 small children, took a one hour wilderness trip and everything was much enjoyed by all. Captain Todd was great as he made many spinning turns that everyone loved and he managed to find a 10+ foot alligator that we were able to get very close to as well as a baby alligator. He was also very informative of the wildlife, vegetation, history, etc, and we will definitely return again in the future as well as highly recommend the trip and Captain to any interested parties.

The weather was a little iffy - cool, very windy, cloudy - and there was no one else waiting for an airboat tour. Captain Levi introduced himself and asked if we wanted to go a little earlier. Of course we said yes. We had a fantastic tour through the mangroves, stopping at a number of places while Cpt Levi shared his extensive knowledge of the plant, bird and animal life as well as detailed Everglades history. He also gave us some great thrills 'flying' along the waterways, ending in a 180 turn before taking off again. We saw many different birds and also some alligators. Since there were no scheduled tours after ours (due to weather), Cpt Levi extended the tour for us. Afterwards we went to the animal park where we saw many alligators, some enormous, as well as crocodiles, tortoises, buzzards, and snakes (included with the tour). We all agreed it was most worthwhile, especially with such a great guide !

It was a terrible trip. We paid 250€ for two people, two airboat tours, buggy tour and the boardwalk. The first airboat tour was a disaster. We saw nothing and then I knew why: the sound of the airboats is sooo loud. On the second airboat tour we saw one alligator and a bird. That’s it. There was a animal sanctuary behind what we also visited. The poor alligators were in very small cages. I hope they let them free when they grow big. I don’t think so because there was also an alligator show where they showed how to kill an alligator. They were making fun and sitting on the back of the alligator, playing with their mouth and teeth. It was terrible to see for me. The alligator itself looked sedated.
Then we went to the buggy drive what was a disaster too. 15 Minuten drive through a landscape. Again we saw nothing except of a lot mosquitos. And we saw one alligator which was caged behind a fence. We didn’t do the boardwalk at all. We saw enough. Or let’s better say: we wasted enough time and money.
Would never book that tour again and would not recommend it for people who like animals.

Thank you for your response. We're sorry you didn't get to see wildlife during your tour. Most guests see wildlife, but we can't make guarantees about wild animals, of course. The animals in our animal sanctuary were acquired from previous owners who raised them in captivity. We take our responsibility to them seriously. We are licensed and monitored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in order to provide the proper care for these animals. We do not sedate our animals unless it's under the direction a specialized veterinary doctor. Many large animals, such as alligators or big cats, have a naturally sedate disposition in order to conserve energy. We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experiences. We'll pass your feedback along to our team.

Visiting the Everglades was really one of our holiday highlights, such a fabulous destination!
What really made it even more special for us was the incredible airboat tour we did, which was pre booked prior to our holiday with Jungle Erv’s.
We can not recommend this attraction enough! Our captain was brilliant! Humorous, knowledgeable and incredibly skilful the way he manoeuvred the airboat at speed with such precision around the mangrove tunnels. Wow, we would love to return! We saw alligator, various fish and other wildlife on our tour. Our captain was awesome!!!!

Great experience; this operator is in the mangroves which we liked because it was more intimate (as opposed to the ones to the east, closer to Miami, which were in grasslands; fine, but different). The boat was comfortable and the headsets made it easy to hear the drivers commentary. For us it was just right! Included in the price was admission to a nearby alligator farm…worth a stop.

After the Everglades on the east side we wanted to test the Mangrove side, it was a success.
We only tested the “mangrove tunnel” activity, but it’s definitely worth doing!
The airboat was not too big (6 people), the tour is long (50 min) and the mangrove crossing is splendid, with a pilot who doesn't say much but has fun going fast, making his boat drift ...and who knew where to show us a very beautiful alligator. A success !
(and then go eat alligator on the water at City Seafood in Everglades City!)

Fun Ride! I have never been in the Everglades or on an airboat and this was something on my "bucketlist". Being from Illinois, I was really looking forward to seeing some animals in the wild. Well, we all know wild animals do not always cooperate. We saw one bird. Bummer! With that said, the boat ride was thrilling and fast! It was quite fun and the scenery was beautiful! Mike our guide was a great, skillful driver with alot of corny jokes that made you laugh. I would do it again. The ticket included a wildlife scantuary visit which was very touristy, but some animals to see. Kids would love it.

We purchased tickets for our family, 4 adults and 2 children. The price for “Mangrove Airboat Tour” was $263.26. Our confirmation asked that we arrive 30 min. prior to the 2pm departure time. The only reason I booked here was that Captain Jacks and Wooten’s were fully booked (incidentally, we’ve had good experiences with both). I understand that all three companies are now under the same ownership.
Upon our arrival at Jungle Erv’s, we found the property to be in very poor condition. The single building was attended to by a single employee with zero personality. She informed us that they only had one operating airboat, and our scheduled ride would be delayed at least an hour or more. With 2 small children and our own plans for later in the day, the wait was impossible. The drive there and back had already wasted 90 min of our time. At this point, we asked for a refund, and the attendant said she needed to call the owner. The owner denied our request. We were forced to reschedule, but too late for my grandkids…they would not be with us.
There’s many layers to this negative review. The outside “seating area” where people can wait is mold covered and filthy. It consists of an old wooden bench, 2 discarded office chars, 2 mold covered lawn chairs and an overflowing ashtray. Why is there only one boat available when there are 3 locations under the same management? Why couldn’t I be informed earlier in the day that they couldn’t uphold their end of the reservation before we wasted 45 min. getting there. My phone # and email was clearly noted. The employee answer to these questions was “I’m only one person “. Not acceptable. So, we were forced to reschedule and find 4 more people to join us.
Upon return for our ride, my first impression was that the boat itself was old. The seats weren’t clean, vinyl torn in places. The “captain “ was personal and did provide an enjoyable ride highlighted by an alligator sighting.
In closing, if you’re looking for poor customer service, and a rundown location, Jungle Erv’s is a good choice. If you want better, try Captain Jack’s or Wootens. But, because they are all the same management, next time, I will be looking elsewhere. I owe my grandkids an airboat ride, and expect better and responsive customer service .

We had so much fun on this airboat tour! Our captain was Jessica and she was knowledgeable about the area, and drove our boat expertly and with safety, with the right amount of speed and water spray! We saw lots of gators. The mangrove area was beautiful. The only reason for the 4 stars is because we had to go through some hoops to arrive at the launch location. We purchased tickets online a few days ahead of time, and they never told us it is confusing. We checked in at the first stop at Collier Ave with the gift shop and they said we were at the wrong location. (The woman that told
us this was not friendly and kinda flat in her personality but we are not easily offended so on we went) Next we went to exactly where she told us to go, and THAT lady at the next location said “yeah you need to cross the bridge around the corner and across the street” to get to the boat. So we did. That spot is actually Captain Jacks. I asked the lady at the snack shop what the deal was and she told me that Jungle Ervs was bought by Captain Jack’s. Jeepers. So anyway, get there early, or just save yourself some stress and ask ahead of time where you need to go haha! Then be ready to have a great airboat tour. We didn’t do any of the additional attractions since it’s way too hot (July 2023) so we can only speak to the airboat tour.

We are glad you enjoyed your airboat tour! We strive to ensure our guests have both an informative and entertaining experience. As for the launch location, we are sorry you encountered difficulty in finding it. Most of the time, guests can launch from the first location they check in at. But sometimes, if it reduces wait times, we send guests to a nearby location with more empty boats. We will pass this along with our team.
