Getting up close to the aligators, and really seeing them! We approached very slowly so that the aligator wouldn't feel threatened, which I really appreciated. I was concerned about whether the wildlife would be ok with the boats, but our Guide reduces speed well away from the animals, reducing both speed and noise.
I didn't find it even close to too loud and I am very sound sensitive. I did buy the $1 ear plugs, but I honestly don't know that they were needed!
All the staff that we interacted with were excellent - polite and helpful. They also referred us to a restaurant where we had a really good lunch after the tour. Overall an amazing experience of true Florida.

Our captain Leebo did a great job showing us the Everglades. We saw the biggest alligator I've ever seen. Lots of beautiful birds. He would ride for a while and then stop to show us things, explain something or take questions. In the description they say "private" tours, so we assumed we would be the only group on the boat. But that wasn't the case. So you can be with a group of people you don't know. I also assumed they would have headphones like you see in other ads. But they just give you little earplugs. Then the captain stops when he wants to talk to you. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed it. No seatbelts or side railing so I'd be concerned if I had little children.

We had Captain Rick as our guide. He was excellent, he showed us multiple alligators and gave us history on the animals and the Everglades. He had a great sense of humor. After the tour, he let us hold baby alligators. I would definitely recommend this establishment!!

We arrived 9 minutes late for our reservation, but 6 minutes before we were to leave. We went to the reception and were told that our boat had left. Very abrasively, she told us we had to be there 15 minutes before the leaving time. I was so stunned from a tongue lashing when I walked out that I wasn’t sure what to do. I wandered down to the dock and there was our boat, not gone at all.
So we discussed it among our group and decided to book for an hour later. Still the reception was so abrasive. We were not to walk here or talk there. We decided to leave and go for a drive until our boat time.
So we arrived back at 1:45 for our trip and there was no one in sight. I am not sure why we had to be there early, as the captain did not come out until 1:56 to call us for the trip.
She had given our reservation away before 12:53, but we would have been fine on this trip showing up at 1:57. I could take her giving away the reservation, but the abrasive attitude and no offer of another possibility was head spinning.
Additionally, there was no offer of ear protection, and then we discovered that you could buy cheap ear plugs for $1. You pay $50 for a boat ride and it can’t come with $1 earplugs?
Of course there was a well placed clear sign saying that you were fully expected to leave the captain a tip, which also did not sit well with me.
The captain was fine. He was somewhat entertaining and told up bits about mangroves and alligators. I can’t fault him, as he did his job, but there must be better establishments in this area that offer better customer service.

Took the airboat tour this past weekend with captain Mike and was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He made the tour very enjoyable and answered every question we had. He would stop and explain every aspect of the ecosystem and how it effects the surroundings. Saw lots of wildlife, alligators, fish, and birds. A perfect day all around!

We turned into Capt. Mitch’s on a whim hoping to be able to at worst make a reservation for another day. We were able to snag an airboat tour with Capt. Ron 20 minutes after parking! Yup, it’s loud. Some of us stuffed a bit of tissue in our ears which helped. The store sells earplugs, but you might want to bring your own if you already have them. The number of different birds we saw on the tour was incredible! Roseate spoonbills, white ibis, wood storks, great blue herons, great egrets, snowy egrets, kingfishers, tricolor herons, little blue herons, mottled ducks, ospreys, vultures, cormorants, anhingas, coots, gallinules! We did see quite a few alligators sunning themselves on grassy banks, too. The mangroves are pretty stunning, and Ron gave us some information on the Everglades and surrounding area. Don’t miss this. It was a great hour!

Fantastic Experience! An airboat ride in the Everglades has always been a bucket list item of mine. My family went the day after Thanksgiving. Their tours are on private land. The shop and departure location are quaint. Staff at shop were very friendly. Our guide (I feel terrible that I didn't catch his name) was a young man that you could tell grew up in the area and loved the everglades by his stories. He was wonderful! We saw many alligators, birds, fish and mangroves. He stopped on several occasions to give educational / conservation information. I am a native Floridian and learned several things that I did not know from him. The foam earplugs sold in the shop for $1 are all you need and much more sanitary than rented headsets. Truly a wonderful experience! Appealed to both me the nature nerd and my teenage son that highly enjoyed flying over the river of grass at times.
Highly recommend Capt Mitch's Airboat tours! Do not miss this opportunity in South Florida!

Our family of four incl two kids 11 & 8 did this 1 hour airboat tour on a recent weekday afternoon. We pulled in the drive off Hwy 41 on a whim to check it out. Read a few reviews on TA and was pleased that they did not force masks on their trips. Went inside the building and saw a Trump2020 bear on a shelf and that sold it for me....we're GOING on a tour with these guys. Made a res for mid afternoon. Came back at the res. time and paid (cash is cheaper than card). Got our hearing protection and about 10 mins later we loaded the boat and were off. Saw a bunch of gators, some within a foot of the boat. Saw lots of waterfowl. Got a good glimpse of the Everglade mangrove forests and grasslands.....wild Florida at its best. Tour guide made several stops to explain what we were seeing, had a quick wit about him which gave us a smile.
Hats off to these guys, keep it up.

Absolutely brilliant Airboat tour of the Everglades from this friendly local business
Really well organised and quick booking experience and our captain who has lived on the Everglades all his life was an expert at finding the gators and telling us about their lives and habitat
We can’t recommend this tour enough. We’ll definitely come back.
Thank you everyone!

Captain Dave provided us with a full tour of the private everglade. He made special effort to show me Rosetta spoonbilled bird I wanted to see. He shared informative information about the glades. Loves what he does and represents captain mitch tours favorable. Fun adventure and reasonable in price.

We will be staying in Naples, is there a pick up for this tour in Naples? Thank you
Written May 6, 2023
I don't know, but this is a small business so I doubt they can offer this service.

Does this include a 'gator farm' experience? We DO NOT want that! We are trying to find an operator that has genuine conservation at its heart and not a zoo or animal attraction tagged on the end, which seems to be the norm here. Thanks.
Written February 10, 2020
No zoo! All the animals are in their natural habitat without restrictions.

Cost of trip and duration. Holds how many people.is is priced per person
Written February 4, 2016
As I recall, the cost was $40.00 each for an hour ride. The air-boat that we had could hold 9 people. Didn't see any alligators on the tour, but the guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and interesting. There is an old gator that lives under the office and comes out for peanut butter crackers.
