After another charter captain cancelled the day before our reservation, we were able to get a spot on the Full Draw. We couldn’t be happier with our change of boats. Capt Brantley had us on the fish all day, and first mate AJ did an outstanding job taking care of all of our family, especially our three young boys. They were very positive, patient, and love what they do... made it so much fun. We hit our limit of Snapper, finishing with some door mats... landed two solid king mackerel, and the cherry on top was a beautiful 55”+ wahoo. We’ll definitely be looking to fish with this crew again soon!

I took my two sons out with Captain Brantley on Full Draw for a day of fishing and had an awesome time. Everyone caught fish Captain Brantley knew the best locations to find the snapper. The boat was comfortable and nice. We will definitely be booking another trip on the Full Draw.

My husband took my eleven year old son out for his first deep sea fishing trip July 24. He was joined by two of his friends and their ten year old daughter and eight year old son. Capt Brantley and his deckhand AJ were so accommodating and did an amazing job teaching the kids. It was the towards the end of red snapper season and they caught their limit. The kids came back wanting to do it again with so many great stories! If you are looking for a family charter, this is your boat!

Went out on a half-day trip Aug 3, 2017 with Captain Brantley Galloway and mate Ken to catch king mackerel and anything else that showed up. Stopped just outside the pass and caught live bait, which was a lot of fun by itself. We then hit three different locations. Caught a couple at the first. Second spot was slow and Brantley moved us on in short order. Stop number three was fish on. And on, and on, and on again!
A little background. If you have never fished for kings on a charter out of Destin, I can tell you it is way more fun than it used to be. I cannot overstate this. Back in the day king fishing meant trolling frozen cigar minnows. When a fish was hooked the mate would hand you the pole and you would then just crank it in. It honestly wasn't much more than fish harvesting. Not very fun. Times change though, and now the boats are catching live bait which the clients participate in. Once at a site you fish the live bait caught earlier while the boat is slowly moved around the location. The upshot to this is immense. People are actually fishing! If you have decent spinning gear (20 - 30lb line, 8' to 9' rod) you can bring your own equipment. Lot of fun catching fish on your own gear. Be sure it is ready for the day though. New line, reel maintained, drag smooth, etc. You will be supplied with the hook/leader from your mate. It's a great time!
Some people will try and tell you king mackerel don't taste very good. Don't believe them. The mate will clean your fish for transport. Spend a few minutes at home making sure all remaining bones and bloodline are removed. Freeze most and get ready to cook some fresh. Soak the pieces in melted butter, sprinkle with blackened seasoning, and drop in a hot (400 deg) skillet for 2-4 minutes a side. It is excellent! I use an electric skillet so the cooking is done outside keeping your house from getting smoked up.
Fishing is fishing. Some days the bite is on, sometimes not so much. The owner-operators and mates love fishing. It's what they do. They want to put you on fish, and they want you to catch them. I guarantee they enjoy fish being caught as much as the clients. It's a team effort. Communicate any questions or concerns you might have while on the trip. Don't let misguided concerns about being kept off "the good spots" spoil your time. Tip your mate appropriately. I'm pretty sure the mates are responsible for providing the tackle that is used.

Captain Brantley and mate Travis were very professional and cared about the experience of his customers. They were a great team and made sure each and every one of us caught some type of fish. I would definitely recommend him and would personally use him and his team again.

This day was great!! My boys are 8 and 9 years old and this was my wife's first experience out there too. Travis was awesome and was an amazingly positive influence on us all. Captain Brantley was on the action all day and found all kinds of fish for us to catch. These guys know what they're doing and have fun doing it. Get out with them if you can. We came all the way from Kansas City and they nailed it for us!!! Great job guys!!!! See ya next time

We were fortunate that Captain Brantley was able to accommodate our group of six (ages 13-53) after our first reservation fell through. Even though he was out of town, Phil and Kenny did an amazing job. After catching our bait, we caught ~30 fish in a few hours - Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper and King Mackerel. A great time for was had by all - and a delicious dinner as well. We will definitely be return customers.

We had a corporate team building experience and were fortunate to be aboard Hiliner Charters' Full Draw. The crew was very interactive and truly interested in ensuring we had a great experience. Our group was one of a few who caught fish that day! We look forward to returning next year to enjoy Hiliner Charters again. Thank you for making our afternoon a great one!

Fishing with Hiliner Charters Capt Brantly on his new boat FULL DRAW.
We were the lucky group that got to fish with Capt Brantly and Mate Travis on the first charter on his new (to him) larger, faster fishing machine!
We talked to the Capt 3 weeks ahead and booked the charter after explaining we were flying in to meet our son and his girlfriend who are stationed at Eglin AFB. We only had one day and wanted it to be memorable. I cant say enough about how concerned these guys were that we had a great time were comfortable and happy all day. We did an 8 hour charter (left dock at 0600) and the day went by very fast! Started off catching the elusive WAHOO, followed by monster Kingfish and finished off with some White Snapper and a little time looking for Sailfish. Travis worked hard to keep us untangled and didn't lose any fish at the boat. He was a great coach for those that don't fish much and is patient, professional, and a pleasure to fish with! Capt Brantley knows where the fish are so there was no aimless ocean cruising, we were catching fish all day. The boat has A/C so you can cool off between fishing spots and not sweat in your lunch! We would recommend Hiliner Charters to all.. groups, families, and experienced fisherman. We requested big fish on light tackle and they delivered exactly that and an awesome day on the water!! Communications with Brantley was very easy and made the booking and preparation a breeze.
