About
Families on vacation struggle to find an activity the whole family can enjoy "together". Mobile SandCastle Lessons offer an experience everyone will love. Create Memories in the Sand with a two-hour award-winning and sand-cerely unique activity. This quality time opportunity is a “WHOLE FAMILY EXPERIENCE”. We require at least 1 participating adult* per 5 children. And, sometimes the adults have more fun than the children! Learn to build an (approx.) 3 1/2-foot-tall sand tower! Gain "SandCastle Success" while you create a bit of "SandCastle Envy" on the beach. It's not just a SandCastle Lesson - It will become a vacation memory to last a lifetime. Your SandCastle Coach(es) "typically" meet you at your beach. As a professional sand sculpting company we also offer marriage proposals, elegantly unique wedding sand sculptures, specialty sand sculptures, parties of all types (including birthday parties), and Corporate Team Building with logo sand sculptures.

We had the best time with Rick! The kids built an amazing sand castle and had soooo much fun learning. They have been using their skills all week. Make sure to book Beach Sand Sculptures!

We had so much fun with our lesson and learned all the basics. The sisters who led the lesson were fun, helpful, and energetic. We had our class at the beginning of the stay and we were able to build different castles/ sculptures each day for the rest of our trip. People even stopped and took pictures! So cool to have a new lifetime skill!

Avary and Kyalie were amazing teachers! They showed us the basics with a tower they built, helped us get started on our towers, continued adding incredible detail to the whole sand sculpture and constantly encouraged us as we added features. We learned so much from them! They did a great job working with my 11 and 9 year old daughters. We loved this experience and can’t wait to try it out again!

Rick found an amazing spot right next to the water. He was great w my 5 year old son. We built an amazing sand castle & he even put a shark in front of it for my son! It was interactive & really mixed up the long days at the beach! Will definitely book again!

We had a great time. It was VERY hot. It would have nice to have an umbrella or other covering to get away from the sun. Our coaches were excellent and fun. Great time was had by all! Would definitely recommend for everyone!

If you have a large group - do not waste your time. I spend $640 for this "awesome" experience, and we built 4 "forms". Our coaches were not engaging our kids, they left without saying anything, we had the worst time. I do not recommend this at all. Please save your money.

We had 30 people in our group - I paid for 20 people to do this activity. We had about 16/17 adults and kids participating. This little boy wanted to join so bad, and they coaches snapped at his father even though ME - THE PAYING Customer said it was ok. I was heartbroken for them. The boy cried, and they ended up leaving the beach.

The coaches were ok at first. Teaching the kids how to make sandcastles (this was a 30 minute talk - hot day - kids already disengaged) then they started making "forms" kids split up into groups - coaches stopped teaching. They left a little bit before their alloted time, didn't say a word. They knew it was bad.

To spend $640 for 20 people expecting to make things like their facebook, tripadvisor, instagram portrays, we were SOOOO disappointed. We made 4 forms in total, and one of the teachers made a few windows out of the top of theirs.

Don't waste your money. This was the biggest disappointment in our trip - and to get an appropriate response from the company is a joke.

Hello Again Sarah, We are very sorry you felt our response was a joke. A considerable amount of time was taken to respond to your various issues. The following is Beach Sand Sculptures' email response which includes some of the client's concerns in their own words. ----------------- Hello Sarah, We have received your email regarding your SandCastle Lesson on June 20th from 10:00a-12:00p in the Destin Service Area with SandCastle Coaches; Avary and Kyalie. We understand you are concerned with the outcome of your experience. We have gathered information from your SandCastle Coaches pertaining to your SandCastle Lesson. You wrote, “Your website has this GORGEOUS castle built by a family, your Instagram is full of beautiful sculpture, but we literally only got to make 4 tall forms and a little “decor” at the top”. SandCastle Coaches provide instruction, then mentoring the client through the process of building their own sand castles. A mentor is a person who can support, advise, and guide. A SandCastle Lesson teaches a group of people how to create 3 ½ ft tall sand castles. Photos taken at your SandCastle Lesson indicate your family was able to create 3 ½ ft tall sand castles. [two photos of SandCastles created by this family, standing 3 1/2 ft tall] Beach Sand Sculptures is a professional sand sculpting company offering a variety of services; SandCastle Lessons is one of those services, Specialty Sand Sculptures is another. Most of the photos on our social media accounts are professionally created Specialty Sand Sculptures not the result of a SandCastle Lesson. Expecting your family to be able to create similar sand sculptures is not a realistic expectation for a 2 hour - SandCastle Lesson. During a SandCastle Lesson, very few families, if any, are able to create a “GORGEOUS” sand castle. This photo (below) and review demonstrates …. it’s not so much about the end product ….. it’s about the time the family spends working together creating “their” sand castle. [photo of another family's SandCastles (not gorgeous by any means - yet they were so very proud of their creation) and 5 star review posted on TripAdvisor entitled "Perfect beach activity!"] It seems that your expectation was for your family to build a professional looking “GORGEOUS” sand castle, but they didn’t. Families, just as people, vary in their abilities to take what they have learned from instruction and carve their own unique sand castles. “…. and was told we would be 4 instructors for our group and we only got 2,” you wrote. (Cut and pasted from email directly) Beach Sand Sculptures, in 12 years of offering SandCastle Lessons, hasn’t EVER offered 4 SandCastle Coaches for the group size you purchased: 16-20 people. In fact, our SandCastle Coaches are trained to instruct groups of up to 20 people on their own. Another comment, “The girls were ok, but when a little boy wanted to do it to, and I said it was ok since we didn’t have 20 people, Audrey (not the correct name) shut that down really fast! I was in shock! I understand that there is probably a policy about kids joining, but if I (myself who paid for this over priced activity) says it’s ok, that should be the end of the story”. Beach Sand Sculptures is a business; annually securing business liability insurance, obtaining the appropriate Business Tax Receipts and Vendor Permits for various counties, along with a host of other business priorities to assure quality and integrity. Your SandCastle Coach’s decision to not allow a minor child (or anyone else not initially part of your group) into a private activity is company policy. You indicated you already understood there might be such a policy. This is a business liability issue. When you purchased your SandCastle Lesson you agreed to all Beach Sand Sculptures company policies. Additionally, when you purchased your SandCastle Lesson you agreed to the price. There are people who are offering to pay 2x/3x the price you paid, in order get a SandCastle Lesson! You also wrote, “The girls (SandCastle Coaches) started packing up around 11:20 and left around 12, not saying a word. Just left. I think they knew the disappointment we felt”. With a group of 16-20 people in a SandCastle Lesson, it is important not only for organization purposes, but more importantly for the safety of the group for the SandCastle Coaches to pick-up and clean-up equipment regularly - once the clients begin building their SandCastle towers. Your SandCastle Lesson was booked for 10:00am to 12:00pm. We understand several of your family members arrived late, causing a delay in your start time. Your SandCastle Coaches are responsible to begin on time, keep the lesson sight safe, and end on time. Your comment that you think they knew how you felt, is curious. Since you tipped them (after the lesson) on-top of the gratuity you voluntarily added to your booking. What would they question? We can only imagine, it could be most frustrating when attempting to orchestrate 20 people doing an activity, especially if they show up late and demonstrate a lack of desire to participate; in an activity you thought they would enjoy. We get that. Our experience is; when the adults participate….everyone has more fun. Perhaps your own participation may have assisted your group’s fun and participation as well. We have witnessed adults, who are supposed to be actively participating, not actually helping the children. Sand weighs 13+ lbs./gallon and water weighs 8+ lbs./gallon. It takes some work to build up a 3 ½ ft tall sand castle. The children in your group may have had greater success if the other adults making up your group of 20 people (per booking) had participated in the fun. We understand the two participating adults were responsible for creating the wine bottle (see photos) all on their own! You wrote, “….we (20 people) did not at all get what your website or facebook/instagram states”. Your family members, who actively participated, learned how to build 3 ½ ft tall sand towers; they created a fun wine bottle. In general (without a SandCastle Lesson), people are unable to build they were able to build on their own. If the rest of your family had either assisted the children and/or worked on their own sand castles, you could have had a city of sand castles. The knowledge of how to build 3 ½ ft tall sand castles was available to your entire group. Unfortunately, your family lacked the desire to put that knowledge into action. This, un-knowingly perhaps, deprived them of the fun of playing together and building their very own “GORGEOUS” masterpiece as you expected them to create. Like yourself, your SandCastle Coaches can not make your family participate. They did the job you hired Beach Sand Sculptures to do – teach a SandCastle Lesson (learn how to build 3 ½ ft tall sand castles). What your family chose to do with the information and their time of mentoring is out of our hands. Regards, Your Client Care Team Beach Sand Sculptures

Great experience! Loved learning skills we can use every year on our vacations. Definitely worth the time and effort. Communication was clear and helpful. The only reason I didn’t give 5-stars was the price was a bit high.

The only thing that I would advise is that there is some sort of fluorescent umbrella or flag on the we needed a flag on the rolling cart. There are so many people with blue shirts, it was very difficult to identify Tony on the beach with so many people. A fluorescent crazy flag would’ve been very helpful.
