We visited The Village of Baytowne Wharf the day after Thanksgiving while we were staying at Santa Rosa Beach. You pull into a well-kept gated community, drive a little and pull in to park. You walk over a little bridge that goes across a small...More
I’m sad that we found this place in the off-season when it was not very busy. I bet it is an amazing time in the summer when it’s hopping. But we still enjoyed walking around looking at all the neat shops/bars/restaurants and other stuff to...More

There was no parking in garage. We had to circle the whole village 3 times to find parking. We arrived in the village and found it very charming. Too bad at 630 pm most of the shops were closed. We stopped at the pizza place....More

Looking for a Loft/Condo to Rent Overlooking the Village (3 Replies)
Anyone know of a great condo to rent overlooking the village of Baytowne Wharf? Looking for something that sleeps 6-8, a loft type unit - something fun. Let me know. Thanks.

First Time to Destin Trip Report May 2015 (10 Replies)

First, we had a great time and will definitely go back. We did all the things we wanted to do...some we would do again some probably not. We stayed at the Inn at Crystal Beach and definitely recommend it. The view from our balcony was amazing...we saw dolphins each morning and a small sand shark the first morning. The...More

The "one main road" is the reason for the traffic problem!
Best Restaurants in Baytowne Wharf (3 Replies)
What are the best restaurants in the Village of Baytowne Wharf - for lunch and dinner? Also, is Destin/Sandestin somewhat dead this time of year? Or does it still get lively?

I like Acme Oyster House, same as the New Orleans restaurant, get the peacemaker poboy. The bistro when you first walk into the area, can't remember the name. Taste some wine at the wine shop, great people there. Beef O'Brady's for sports bar food across the street at the older Sandestin shops Also there are there's the new shopping and dining area on the east end of Sandestin with some very nice dining options.
