Sun Dogs is definitely the group to go with for parasailing! Every step of the way they are top notch! Booking in advance is a breeze because they will text you and call you directly. Checking in was easy and very informative. They shuttle you out in a small boat to the main boat and the Captain of the small boat made fun conversations along the way. The crew on the parasailing boat was very fun as well. They were professional and very safe! We did not feel rushed in any way! They way they have it set up bringing you out as others are parasailing and then dropping you off and shuttling others back is very smart and effective. They do not cram people together at all. Small groups in and small groups out makes for a much better experience than we have had with other outfits. Sun Dogs for the WIN!

AMAZING experience!!! We attempted to parasail on a day that was cloudy/rainy, but we had to head back to the harbor since the storm was brewing. Sun Dogs Parasail reimbursed us immediately, then said we could come back the next business day to try again if we would like. We are SO glad we decided to try again on a beautiful day!! It was peaceful swinging 500ft in the air, getting to spot sharks and dolphins in the waters below. We had a 9 year old in our group who also was well taken care of and loved every minute. I definitely will be returning and using Sun Dogs!!! 5 stars from me!

We would highly recommend Sun Dog Parasailing! Loved the small number so you don’t spend part of your day watching strangers parasail. Very well organized and friendly! Even worked out a way to reschedule days when some of the family got sick and needed to move it to another day. Also loved the cash discount!

Awesome! We always try to accommodate our guests if there is an illness, harsh sunburn, or anything else that would prevent you from making your appointment. We strive to treat all of our guests how we would want to be treated. Very happy you enjoyed the smaller group size and the Cash Discount! See you next time and we appreciate you writing your review. Reviews are everything to a small company like us. We can't compete with the rich business men that own the other parasail companies with the amount they spend in advertising dollars. We just try and do the best job possible so nice folks like you tell other nice folks, and keep you coming back to us! Thank you.

I am emailing you to let you know my experience with Sun Dogs parasailing. My husband and I came to Destin last week with our son and daughter n law. This was our first experience parasailing and we were very excited. I saw the weight limit and didn’t think anything about it because I weigh 245. The limit is 250 as stated all over your signs Ect. We went through 2 people ( the lady taking the $$$$ and they gentlemen taking us out to the boat)Neither one of them said a thing about my size and they sure could have if I was indeed to overweight . We all get to the parasailing boat and get on and the driver of the boat looks me dead in the eye and says “ You won’t be able to go up! You are too fat! There are signs everywhere!” I just sat there not knowing what to say. Finally I said “ It’s ok , I just won’t do it”. He then says “ you shouldn’t have even gotten on the boat!” I was simply mortified and so mad!!!!! My son stood up and said “ we can distribute the weight. She will be fine”. The driver says “oh ok yea I guess we can.” I flew up with my husband and had the time of my life. I just wanted to email and let you know it was such a rude beginning to the most wonderful experience of my life. I don’t know this man’s name but you as a company such as this may want to address him and let him know some basic compassion and sincerity! You can’t say stuff like this and expect it to be alright! It was very very uncalled for. Feel free to email me back as I would like to know how you plan on addressing this complaint.

I am appalled that you have the audacity to write this review, I am sorry you remember it this way but that is NOT what happened. Let's review what ACTUALLY happened and see this from my perspective, as a business owner, an owner operator with 24 years of parasailing experience with a 100% safety record, and we are trying to keep everyone safe. That is the reason for our restrictions, and the reason I try and send at least 2 texts PRIOR to anyone's arrival explaining the restrictions. #1, I send a pricing text with pricing AND RESTRICTIONS, specifically the 250lb rule. #2, I send a confirmation text stating everyone must meet the restrictions, SPECIFICALLY if you are more than 250lbs we need to know how much more than that if we are able to fly you or let you get on the BOAT! #3 I have a sign on the front of my booth stating if you weigh more than 250lbs you might not be able to fly or be a spectator. The reason I do all these things is to prevent me from having to blatantly ask people how much they weigh. Its the worst part of my job! I have a sister, who I love dearly, who has struggled with her weight her entire life, she's morbidly obese (that's a medical term, not an insult) and I am very sensitive to people's feelings about their weight. To parasail safely, we must have the correct amount of weight in the parasail for the wind conditions. And it BLOWS MY MIND, after 24 years of doing this, that people will LIE to me about their weight when they are about to dangle hundreds of feet above the water attached to a rope! Its amazing how many people say they weigh 245lbs, but when I pull my scale out they refuse to get on it. I hate doing that because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but its about SAFETY!! Now, to address what happened on the boat. My Captain who has been with us 24 years, does NOT and would NEVER tell a customer they are too fat to fly. That's just plain ridiculous. I remember you and know exactly what happened. The Captain said you are too HEAVY to fly with the other HEAVY person. Those are the terms we use because in parasailing weight is EVERYTHING! And there are heavy people and there are light people. When you come out in a group of 3-5 people, we cannot put 2 heavy people together and put the light people together. When the Captain said he can't fly the heavy people together, you threw a literal temper tantrum and threw the harness down on the boat deck chipping the fiberglass. Unbelievable! When the deckhand and Captain explained how we would distribute the weight, everyone flew and received a safe parasail experience. But your memories of the day are just plain wrong. I understand people who are overweight are sensitive about their weight, but please know this: Everything we do is for the safety of everyone involved. There is no way on God's Green Earth that my Captain or my deckhand would ever say that you are too fat to fly. That's ridiculous. Maybe in your mind, since you are sensitive about the issue, when he said you are too HEAVY to fly with the other heavy person, you perceived that as him calling you fat, but that is NOT AND NEVER WILL BE the terminology we use with our guests. I am absolutely appalled you have the audacity to write that. Especially since, if it was so "mortifying", I greet all the customers at the dock on their return and ask them how their experience was. You never said a word. So maybe the word "heavy" festered with you to instigate this blatantly untrue review of your experience, but everything we do is to keep everyone safe and the terminology we use, heavy, light, big, little, is never intended to hurt anyone's feelings.

This was our 9th or 10th time flying with Sun Dog and they continue to exceed all expectations! We wouldn’t fly with anyone else bc they consistently go above and beyond to ensure a great time and safety. Carrie is incredibly customer focused and takes care of everything before we go and then we completely relax as the crew gives everyone first class treatment. So friendly and guaranteed an amazing flight and ride on the boat. Hands down our favorite thing to do when we visit. Don’t go anywhere else!!

Our family of four had a great experience. It was the first parasailing experience for us all (2 adults and 2 children age 13 & 9) The pluses were they shuttle you out to the actual boat you parasail on and only 6 max so your not crammed on a boat with 12+ people and the whole trip beginning to end was only 1 hour. Easy booking (I texted) and check in was easy. Everyone was great. Go eat at AJs afterwards! Highly recommend this company

My daughter gave the gift of parasailing to my husband as a Father's Day gift. Neither had previously parasailed. I selected Sun Dogs because they take only six out on the boat at a time. Did I make the right choice! Carrie was delightful and a wealth of information. The captain and his first mate were knowledgeable, safety-minded and clear in their instructions. We opted for photo package; had no idea we'd end up with so many great shots! All-in-all, this was a great experience. Thank you Sun Dogs!

I took my 2 teenage girls for the 5th year in a row to Sun Dogs Parasailing. We wouldn't go with any other company as we ALWAYS have a great time. The staff truly goes above and beyond to ensure everyone has a great experience and they emphasize safety. We even got to see a dolphin really close up on the ride to the parasail boat. This crew is THE BEST! Already looking forward to next summer with Sun Dogs!

We have gone para sailing multiple times. These guys are great! They respond quickly to questions while making reservations. They are always on time for your flight. They are safe. The boats are clean. They are friendly. They play wholesome music. They are family owned. One of the best things, is they do not put a ton of people on the boat to go parasailing. They only take 6 on each trip.
We have flown with them 5-6 times & have always been very happy. Will fly with them every time we are in the area.

We go parasailing with Sun Dogs EVERY time we are in Destin and wouldn't fly with any other company. Their top priority is, of course, safety but they excel in Customer Service and do everything possible to deliver a great experience. They exceed our expectations every time! Kerri always takes care of us!! Thank you Sun Dogs!!!

Is there a waiting area for people who don’t do it, but need to wait for those who are? And what’s the age limit? Does a 17 year old need a parent with them?

How clear is the water from the air? Can you see any sea creatures in the water from the air?
Written June 15, 2018
On a sunny day, you can see to the bottom- even sea creatures! On an overcast day, we couldn’t see to the bottom but did see dolphins. It’s beautiful either way!

Hi all, what's the parking like there? Do people park at AJ's while doing this? Thanks!
Written April 29, 2018
Yes, park at AJ’s for free. Otherwise the other lot will charge you. This business is amazing. We used them over spring break. Everything is incredibly clean (they wash the life jackets every night) and well organized. They’re really friendly, and you won’t believe how high up you go.

Are they open in October? My family and I want to know cause we're talking our first family vacation to Destin, FL for the first time.
Written September 19, 2017
I'm not sure about that since we haven't been there during October. Give them a call or send them a message, I'm sure they will let you know.

What's the cost for September/October? Do you have a picture package?
Written August 30, 2016
They did have a picture package when we went. We got lots of great shots. The deckhand had a high quality camera, got shots of the whole experience. They put them on a card for us.

My fiance and I would love to parasail for the first time. I just need to know if there is a weight limit because he is a big guy.
Written June 25, 2016
I believe the weight limit is 250 lbs per person but call and ask them to be sure ahead of time. Sun Dogs Parasailing is definitely the company to go with especially for your first time!
