We had THE BEST time during our charter on Suzie Q with Captain Casey and 1st mate Hunter!!! The boat is the perfect size for a private charter without feeling crowded and it allows you to get a personalized experience. Captain Casey took us out to several spots where our party of 6 caught MULTIPLE snappers every time. Hunter was amazing and continuously made sure our lines weren’t crossing and everyone was able to fish at the same time. We ended up catching over 70 fish! Our family had such a great time because of Captain Casey and Hunter! Hunter also stayed afterwards to clean all of the fish, which we took to Brotula’s after (you HAVE to go). We highly recommend Suzie Q and crew and can’t wait to go again next year! Thank you Captain Casey and Hunter!!!

We went out fishing on American spirit. Crew was pretty nice. Disappointed we didn’t catch any fish. Everything we did hook the dolphins stole from us. Also had too many people so spent half our time getting unhooked from other lines. Good time on ocean. Relaxing but will take smaller cruise next time.

I really enjoyed this trip! Despite only leaving with 5 fish (it was afternoon-hot and they weren't biting much) it was a good experience. My son was struggling to catch anything and the deckhands helped and gave him tips until he was successful. This is not a good trip for small kids, as all the rods are the same size, adult size and the weights they use are pretty heavy. It took about an hour to get to the first destination, then we fished for a while and briefly moved to another destination before heading back in. The deckhands filet the fish if you want them to (tip well!) and you can take them home to eat, which we did! I'd say this is a good event for adults and teens. If you have smaller kids and you book them to fish, you will be helping them a lot.

We were quoted (twice) a price of $75/person for a 6hr fishing trip on American Spirit. Yet were charged just over $85 each and didnt notice it until it cleared my bank. Even with the 4% card charge it doesnt equal that price. Calls and messages to inquire go unanswered.
Angry that they just cant be honest up front about charges.
Additionally, trying to fish with 50 people onboard, literally a person on each side of you within 1 1/2 feet is less than ideal.
They tell you the restaurant AJ's will fix the fish for you and even have a coupon they give out. Yet the restaurant will only fry 1 serving for the $9.95. If you want grilled the price goes up to $14.95. Ridiculous.

Amazing charter and even more amazing crew. We had a blast and I even out did myself (our group of 9 caught around 55 fish). On the way back to the dock, I got very ill. Capt Jim and deck mate Hunter made sure I was taken care of. I cannot express what a great charter this is. They care about the customers catching fish and taking care of the customers in general.

We booked for our entire family. Our two youngest ages 7 and 8 are bigger than average kids, but it was too chaotic for them to even get a line in the water. Some of our group was in the cabin and nobody told us there was "fishing instructions" going on outside so some of us missed it. Like others have said, there isn't an indication of the 60 minute trip to and from with some trolling in-between so maybe a total of 1.5 hours fishing. Too many people on board, lines getting caught constantly. Not with the money, that is for sure. The crew was nice enough.

This is my second trip on this boat since arriving in Florida. The entire crew was great and the Mates were outstanding and very helpful. Fishing was ok, but would have liked to catch a few more. Oh well, maybe next trip. I will always use this party boat anytime I'm in Destin.

We went on a four hour trip with our grandsons. It was an awesome trip, deck hands where patient and wonderful with the boys 8 and 10. I’d recommend them hands down. Also caught a lot of fish. Went July of 2020

I would advise you not to go on this boat. They are very unprofessional. They will not tell you ahead of time that the LONG boat ride will make you sick. You will get sick. It's like 4hrs riding and 1-2 hrs fishing. We didnt catch any fish and only 15 fish TOTAL for our charter......thats with over 50 people!!!!!!! We got sick and we noticed the crew videotaping us puking with their cell phones....all while laughing it up! Nice and professional experience laughing at the people who haven't been on the sea before. The waves were too rough to go out on but they went anyway. They should have stayed in like other charters did that day or warn people ahead of time that they would get sick. It was a VERY HORRIBLE experience that our family will not soon forget. We also saw families with very small children getting very sick........nice "party" boat.
I asked for a refund when we got back......no refunds granted! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went out on a trip last week. The conditions for fishing were excellent and the fish were active and biting. The problem was that the boat’s captain did not bring us to any good fishing spots until the very last stop of the trip. He completely “sandbagged” us from catching nice fish. I choose to book that specific day because it fell in both the Red Snapper and Grouper seasons which are only open for about a month each year and the moon was right for fishing. Stop after stop only produced small fish and I believe at the point we stopped for the final one of the day we had only one Red Snapper and no Grouper caught for the entire boat. I’ve seen trips go the way before and knew from the 25 years I’ve been fishing the Destin waters we were not being brought to good locations. I mentioned to the group I was with that it was likely the captain would bring us to a good spot on the last one, so the trip would end on a high note. He did this exact thing. He gave us around 10 or 15 minutes on the final spot and ever group caught a nice batch of Red Snapper and other nice fish. Basically, a six hour trip came down to the last 10-15 minutes for any meaningful fishing.
When we returned to the dock, I approached the owner and told him I expected a better trip and that I felt the captain put us on bad fishing spots deliberately until the last stop. Furthermore, he ran the boat at a much reduced speed on the way back to Destin seemingly to burn up time. The captain, who was present when I made the comments, got angry and began to argue with me. I attempted to walk away from him and he followed me and continued telling me excuses about why the trip went the way it did which I saw as a bunch of BS and told him so. The owner came from the booth and tried to hand me $70 dollars for a refund and said the people standing around could hear my comments about the trip. I refused the money and he shoved it into my shirt pocket. After that I was asked to leave the property and was told the fish I had caught needed to be left behind. I paid for a party of seven, so the $70 was only a refund for one person, yet they confiscated the fish from all seven people in the group.
When I approached the owner to express my concerns about the trip I wasn’t rude or loud. However, the owner and captain were when speaking to me. I will never again go on this boat and encourage others not to go either!

What happens to the fish caught? Do any local restaurants buy the fish? (I don't eat fish but I love catching them!
