Flights were on time departing from Toronto to Victoria BC and return. Both arrived early. Staff at check in and on board were excellent. All passengers wore masks, and the extra leg room seats were worth it. Certainly will travel with Swoop again.

Awesome experience- better than private charters we have done at 10x the cost!
My husband, 8 year old son and I booked a last minute trip as we didn’t have any luck with the private charter we booked the day before (and spend around 2000 dollars for the day)
I was worried about booking a large “public” trip as I figured we wouldn’t catch any fish and that we would spend more time untangling our lines than fishing but the cost was very reasonable and I figured it’s a new experience. It was terrific!! The boat didn’t feel crowded at all and everyone caught plenty of fish! It was actually really fun to see everyone catch fish (it really did feel like a party). The crew was so helpful and everyone was really nice. We loved it so much that we booked another trip 2 days later! The boat was clean and the crew clearly know how to fish.

Very Rough and cold, but sunny, morning. Thought it was a classy move when they announced how rough it was and that hey would give a full refund to anyone who wanted to stay onshore.
Thought the crew did a great job handling the weather and it’s consequences. Many folks were sick.
We caught a bunch of fish, and had a great time fishing while fighting the rough seas. Definitely got my sea legs.
Oz and the other mates did a great job keeping us fishing - appreciated their efforts and good nature!
Fish were cleaned for .$50 lb after, worth it to us out of towners.
Felt like the boat was clean, and would definitely take another trip with these guys.

I took my grandson and 5 of his college friends who were visiting us in Niceville during their spring break. The Swoop II is a great way to introduce someone to Gulf of Mexico fishing. They had a great time, caught a bunch of fish (30+ pounds of filet), and said they would go again. The 4 star rating is because of the extortion parking fee in the lot where just a few years ago was free. Now owned by the adjacent Emerald Grande, they charge $20--no matter how long you park (came out to over $3/hour for me). No where on the Swoop II web site or in their emails do they recommend an alternative. Fortunately I had a $20 bill left over after tipping the mates and paying them to filet our fish. Buyer beware.

We went on a six hour trip. It took 1 1/2 hours to go to first spot (and back) so we had 3 hours of fishing time. Once the captain found fish on the radar we started fishing and catching small trigger fish. Went to a few more spots and people caught several different kind of fish. Some keepers some not. It was rough seas, so several people got sick. It rained, but we could fish since it was not lightning No keepers but it was fun fishing! The crew were very helpful and polite! I can’t wait to go again but on a better day!

I went on an eight hour fishing trip on the Swoop II on 4/22/23 and had a fantastic trip! I caught a lot of fish, including vermillion snapper, white snapper, scamp, and trigger fish. The mates, Oz, Randy, and Max were very helpful taking fish off the hooks, untangling lines, providing fishing tips and were fun the entire trip! Captain Devin did an amazing job finding the fish and holding the boat on the spot during winds and waves while we were fishing. Once back at the dock the mates did a great job fileting our fish quickly and without wasting any meat. They work together as a good team and really want to help customers catch fish and have fun fishing! I highly recommend fishing on the Swoop II!

Good trip overall. Bottom fishing for mingo snapper was steady if you followed directions. I few people had slack line and there were a few bad tangles that the mates cleared really fast considering the spider web they were working with.
Consider getting a box cigar minnows. Our trip only had cut squid and I had better success with cut cigar minnows on other trips.

It was a bit of a run out to the grounds and back which really cuts into fishing time on a 6 hour trip. I would highly recommend an 8 hour trip. Be prepared drop as soon as the horn sounds, get lines up fast when the boat moves, and stay ready for the horn to sound for the next drop to maximize your chances.

For a regular head boat I would go with the Swoop hands down. The crew is good but when there is a full load a few people can really tie up fishing time with tangles so come on board with a positive attitude and patients. Also book the 8 hour trip, longer if it is offered.

when you go on an eight hour trip you should at least catch a trash fish.. We didn't. when the Bonita are caught you chunk them up for the guests, not cut slabs so the deck hands can shark fish half the fishing time... When you know your first drop is full of Triggers, why stop except to waste time.. When you tip to have your spots marked and tipped very well for the spots only to be moved forward because a deck hand didn't have the guts to move the non tippers it's straight wrong. The commo from the wheel house on this boat was twice to the customers on fish depth. And it always helps to fish with rotten bait. Ice box stank of rot not fish. The boat is covered in mildew and mold and there is no A/C except in the wheel house that dripped on me all day in the spot I didn't tip for. I am a local . I have fished this boat many time before but never will again. I have sent many many poeple to this boat from out of town. Never again. Worst trip ever and I go many times a year.

We had a wonderful time. Family of 6. We decided on the Evening 5 hour trip because my youngest who is 8 had never been out to sea so we were worried how she would do. This boat has restrooms and an inside where you can sit down to get in out of the heat. All the crew was very accommodating and took their time out to let my little help reel in a big fish and drive the boat. They cleaned and packed up what fish we caught so we could bring it home. We all caught several fish. I will for sure be back again to take the morning trip out with Swoop 2

This was our second time on the Swoop and have enjoyed it both times. The deck hands were very helpful in untangling lines and getting the fish off quickly so that we could get back to fishing. Caught enough fish for 3 meals, but didn't catch one of the three 25 lb, red snappers, guess others are better fisherman. Highly recommend this trip, if you enjoy fishing, like to be on the water and want something different to do. We also saw quite a few dolphins, which the fishermen on board said was bad, but enjoyed it anyway.
